Exploring the World of Disney’s Signature Dining

Disney may run resorts which are fun for the whole family, but that doesn’t mean that the focus of every attraction is solely geared toward the youngest members of the group.

A great example of this is the selection of restaurants which fall under the Signature Dining banner. These eateries are all at the higher end of the scale in terms of quality as well as price, so let’s dive in and discover what your options are at various parks within the Disney umbrella.

Carthay Circle Restaurant

Found at the Disneyland California Adventure park, the Cathay Circle is a restaurant like no other, as it’s decked out to look like a blast from the past, being housed in a building which resembles an old-school movie theater.

The menu is thoroughly modern, even if the art deco vibe of the venue will whisk you back to a bygone era. From fresh fish dishes to pastas, salads and items from the grill, it’s got a little bit of something for every type of diner.

Bear in mind that the new version of Disneyland annual passes entitles you to discounts at restaurants like the Cathay Circle, so you don’t necessarily need to pay full price if you subscribe to this scheme.

Flying Fish

Disney World in Orlando, Florida is set in a region that’s known for its excellent seafood, and so it should be no surprise that the Flying Fish is a hotspot that plays on this to great effect.

Since it’s on the BoardWalk, it’s conveniently located for those who are just visiting for the day. It’s also a Signature Dining location that’s at the more wallet-friendly end of the scale, albeit still more costly than a basic concessions stand hotdog.

From beautifully presented shellfish to the catch of the day, to Floridian favorites, you’ll be spoilt for choice if you love to chow down on the fruits of the sea.

Le Cellier Steakhouse

If steak is your thing, take a trip to the EPCOT center and get your teeth into a prime slice, cooked the way you like it, at Le Cellier.

Merging European techniques with American portion sizes, it’s a restaurant that lets you enjoy a slap-up meal and will leave you with a smile on your face.

As with all of the restaurants covered in this article, it’s best to make reservations at Le Cellier ahead of your visit in order to avoid disappointment. There may be a table for walk-ups, but there’s no point taking a risk if you’re planning everything well in advance.

Napa Rose

Back to Disneyland, and in the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you’ll find the Napa Rose nestled in its cushy interior.

This is an eatery that does all it can to showcase the latest in California’s own food scene, while still catering to as many different tastes as possible.

It’s also a rare example of one of the Signature Dining restaurants which also supports Character Dining, meaning that those with young families can enjoy experiences which include famous characters from the Disney canon to keep the little ones entertained.

Il Mulino

If Italian food is your bag, this restaurant at the Swan Hotel in Disney World provides an energetic, entertaining and laughter-filled atmosphere in which to enjoy it.

The décor is cool and contemporary, the dishes are delicious and traditional, and the wine list is just as extensive as you’d expect.

It’s also modestly priced, so it won’t leave your bank balance hurting too much if you decide to push the boat out on your trip.
