Who is Ready for a Wine War?

Wines of Chile and the Guild of Sommeliers, in conjunction with LAN Airlines, bring to Miami the second annual international event – WINE BAR WAR Miami edition on Thursday, June 18^th, 7 – 10 PM at the Moore Building. 16 of Miami’s renowned sommeliers will split into 4 teams of 4 to design and develop 4 Chilean-inspired wine bars in 1 day.  Through décor, food, and wine of course, the sommeliers will be challenged to bring Chile to life.

The team captains are a vibrant bunch of Miami’s finest wine connoisseurs chosen to lead their teams to victory, including Brian Gandison of Hakkasan, Heath Porter of Uvaggio, Amanda Fraga of Michael’s Genuine and Greg Rivera of The Breakers Palm Beach. Not to mention, the all-star judges panel, comprising of Chief Operating Officer of the Guild of Sommeliers Geoff Kruth, Marketing Director of LATAM Airlines Ernesto Echeverry, Celebrity Chef Ingrid Hoffman, Chef Richard Hales of Black Brick Chinese and head judge, Charlie Arturaola. Leading the pack with a long list of sommelier accomplishments under his belt – he was named a Chevalier by the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagnes, Wine Communicator of the Year at the IWSC, UK by VINITALY, and Confraria dos Vinhos do Porto.

The one-of-a-kind showdown will feature live music celebrating Chile’s rich musical culture, four open bars featuring the 32 of Chile’s finest wines, and appetizers specially provided by Chef Kyle Cook.  Tickets are selling for $40 and $50 to 300 guests and can be purchased here, some of whom will walk away with two first class tickets to Chile sponsored by LAN Airlines.  Guests may enter the raffle by simply casting their vote for the champion of the epic Wine Bar War.  The winner will be determined by a count of the guests’ votes, trade members, and the panel of prestigious judges.  The champion will revel in their sweet victory while sipping on wine in Chile’s vineyards and roaming the country’s picturesque sites, courtesy of Turismo Chile and LAN Airlines.
