Villa Azur Miami Beach is soon to be celebrating its 10-year anniversary after its opening in 2012. This spot is one of those hidden gems that seems to always exceed expectations. A truly chic French-Mediterranean restaurant and lounge that celebrates life with a delectable menu, fairy-tale atmosphere, and the best people-watching. Thier enchanting open-air courtyard truly welcomes you through lush greenery and string lights.
Isn’t it a vibe when bright lights shine through tree branches? It really lights every table up with romance.
Villa Azur was born out of a passion for exquisite cuisine, expertise in the restaurant industry, and a fondness for entertaining nightlife. The venue is unparalleled when it comes to taking a regular dinner experience to a higher level. The restaurant’s atmosphere is that of southern France with vibrant, trendy, and modern decor, adorned with the glamour and elegance of the French Riviera. Villa Azur’s resident DJ’s unique musical sets further enhance the experience providing the final touch of “je ne sais quoi” from the South of France.
Thursday Soirée à la Villa Azur
As they consistently continue to level up, Villa Azur Miami Beach is well-known for its Thursday Night Dinner Soirée. If you’ve never been, it’s a socially conscious supper club that combines dining, entertainment, art, and live music into one incredibly culinary experience each week. Miami restaurants are adopting the nightclub culture more and more these days. However, they don’t always mix the two experiences as well as Villa Azur has mastered it. Upon entering, the vibrations are lively but not overwhelming and the whole place is filled with joy that you can genuinely feel.
Everyone was dressed to impress (as per usual) and there was a lively mix of personal dates, groups of friends, and people crawling around the bar where the DJ was blending all the jams. It was a full-on party, to say the least. With flashing lights, fog, and oldie mash-ups, we caught ourselves singing along the whole night and sipping on delicious cocktails to commence the evening.
Bon Appétit
The menu had almost everything you can think of. It’s impossible to decide with all the delicious choices. The food we had the pleasure of tasting was absolutely divine. Quickly learning that one visit definitely won’t be enough. The chef-curated selection included their Local Burrata, made with Plum Tomato-Garlic Concassé, Balsamic Glaze, Filone Toast, and Romesco Sauce – the sauce! The Tuna Tartare was prepared with Orange Segments, Pickled Vegetables, Lemon Emulsion, Avocado Salsa Verde, and their version of a Greek Salad, we had the Villa Azur Salad made with Baby Gem, Cured Olive, Chick Pea, Feta, Dried Cherry Tomato, Piquillo Coulis.
Our entrees included some of Villa Azur’s most popular dishes. First up, their Pan-Seared Sea Bass with Charred Aubergine and Fresh Orange Reduction. This was probably one of the most amazing Sea Bass dishes I’ve had in a really long time. The fish melted with each bite, seared perfectly over a bed of purre and sauce. The sauce was amazing. With that touch act to follow, every dish was just as incredible.
The Ravioli De Romans was a dish to celebrate, especially if you’re a fellow pasta queen. It’s made with Comte Cheese, Truffle Cream, and Shaved Fresh Truffle. For our meat lovers, don’t sleep on their steaks. The menu has some great options. The chef brought us an 8oz Prime Filet Mignon, with Sautéed Spinach and a Mushroom Bordelaise Sauce, alongside Villa Azur’s Forest Mushrooms, made in garlic, parsley, and white wine, plus crispy Sauteed Brussels Sprouts tossed in a sweet dijon glaze. Normally, it’s the appetizers that restaurants really kill it with, but these entrees took the cake at Villa Azur.
But Wait! There’s More!
We truly thought we had tasted the best of what Villa Azur has to offer, but to our surprise, the dessert menu was just as mouthwatering. This dessert menu does not ndissapoint, featuring a Baked Tres Leche, made with Passion fruit and White Chocolate crunchies. Being a textures person, it was a satisfying balance of smooth and crunchy. Plus, it’s torched live at the table for those Instagram boomerangs. Next, we had the Classic Tiramisu, made with Coffee, Crumble, and Whipped Cream, just as smooth and sweet with the hint of coffee bitterness to balance the flavors. Highly recommend both of these.
