Stump Town Coffee Review – Inducing Coffee Joy

Stump Town Coffee Review

Happiness can be bought, whoever decided it cannot, (in my humble opinion) is invariably wrong. Joy on the other hand cannot be bought. It’s more of a state of mind. If someone buys you food that satisfies homesickness, it becomes a memory, of fond value. Memories bolster joy, and thusly create such undeniable satisfaction in its most sustainable and versatile form…

It’s hot. The rays of the sun dance along my pallid skin as I walk, wandering around my newfound town of Portland Oregon. Being so freshly moved from So Cal., one would expect the homesickness that ensues. I am on a quest for simple but delicious fare. This in mind I’ve decided to go in search of good coffee and affordable eats; both agreeable with my taste buds, and homesick heart…

Coffee first. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Stump Town Coffee Ice coffee

Stump Town Coffee, Large and industrial. The distinct smell of freshly ground espresso, tantalize the senses and whispers of promising reward. The gentle whispered secrets, and light chatter of surrounding patrons enjoying an agreeable Monday afternoon. The staff greets with a smile and cordial “hello”. My drink of choice: a soy mocha, iced, to compliment the warm weather. The first sip, envelopes my senses with the mellow flavors of bittersweet chocolate, and the firm grasp of espresso on my tongue. It’s not overpowering, rather it’s refreshing, an excellent way to convert your non coffee loving friend to join the dark side where espresso, meets you with open arms.

Taking in my surroundings, I feel quite comfortable whilst relaxing at the bar enjoying the sight of exceptional machinery and classic meets new world delights. Cold brew is on tap, and espresso beans awaiting their transformation, sit proudly with anticipation in the clear cases above coffee grinders. The baristas go about their work with practiced, and confident hands. The results are surprising and rather unabashed in their taste. It’s a place of art and welcomed caffeine to support the tired bodies of artists and the souls of coffee purists.
