Quality Meats Miami Beach Adds Exciting New Menu Items
By Samantha Dockser
Quality Meats Miami Beach opened in late February 2015. It was met with tremendous accolades from diners and press alike. Not content to rest on his laurels, chef de cuisine Patrick Rebholz has elected to start off the year in style by adding some interesting and delicious new dishes to the Quality Meats Miami menu.
It should be noted that not only is the food at Quality Meats Miami delectable, but the décor is enchanting, warm, and tremendously inviting. I started my night at Quality Meats at their rustic bar with a delicious French 75, a cocktail made from gin, champagne, lemon juice, and sugar. It’s my dad’s go to drink and after trying Quality Meats Miami’s version, it is now mine, too.
The first of many tremendous dishes I tasted was Quality Meats’ Charcuterie featuring “Dressed Up Meats.” They were divine—Simply a carnivore’s paradise. My favorite element of the assortment was the Duck Bacon. It is so flavorful and savory, thick and not too crispy. The newest item to make its way to the charcuterie board is a House Made Ricotta, accompanied with mangrove honey or La Quercia prosciutto. Not only is it yummy, but also it is beautiful.
Other favorite new appetizers include the Snapper Ceviche with local strawberries and heirloom tomatoes and Yellowfin Tuna Carpaccio with roasted beets and lemon olive oil. They are both terrific, and I could see myself ordering those as my main entrée together if I came back with a smaller appetite.
Then it came time for the main event: Two magnificent Tomahawk Ribeye Steaks. Eating them I channeled my inner Flintstone. And yabadabadoo they were delicious. Moist and tender and cooked to perfection. They were paired with crispy Onion Rings. Were I not already so full from the immense amounts of charcuterie meat I had already consumed, I could have eaten all the onion rings in sight.
And not to be outdone by the steak, making a special “pop up” appearance – the Signature Chicken Parm Pizza, a buzzworthy import from NYC sister restaurant, Quality Italian, is the star of the new line-up. Intended for two diners at $32 per person, the 14-inch chicken parmesan topped with Mozzarella, Parmesan and Pecorino is delivered to diners on a pizza rack, and is sliced tableside. So popular in New York that the restaurant often runs out midway through dinner service, the dish is accompanied with all the requisite pizza toppings including shakers of parmesan, pepper, dried black olives and Calabrian chili honey. It’s the perfect addition to Quality Meats Miami Beach’s showstopper menu.
Then, as if I hadn’t already eaten enough, I was delighted to taste some of Quality Meats’ more than quality desserts. My favorite dessert, called “The King,” is king for a reason. It is a rich peanut butter-banana sorbet served with caramel bananas, candied peanuts, cinnamon toast, and brown sugar bacon. Yes! More bacon!

My other favorite dessert of the evening is The Cake Standard. It is a classic American chocolate cake, served with crème freche, port cherries, and spiced crunchies. Any chocoholic will go nuts over this dish!
