Oceans 234 – Dinner on The Beach

Oceans 234 is Defining Dinner with a View

The drive alone up to Oceans 234 makes you feel like you’re on vacation. There’s people walking the streets, riding bikes, and hopping in and out of the many restaurants. So what makes Oceans 234 so special? This restaurant is not only beautiful but it is as close to the beach as you can get without having sand in your toes. The perfect spot to have a drink and stare out into the ocean is outside on the patio. Speaking of cocktails, we started with a Tropical Mule – Deep Eddy Peach Vodka, Pineapple Juice and Ginger Beer. This is the epitome of vacation, even if you live here, it feels like a vacation. Let’s get down to the food!

We started with Grilled Octopus & Chorizo – fennel, tomatoes, fingerlings, olives, black garlic vinaigrette. The octopus was so tender and flavorful; they give you more than enough to share, (not that you’ll want to).

On to another thing you should definitely order and keep to yourself is the Tuna Poke – Cucumber, Mango, Macadamia and Crispy Plantains all served up in half of a coconut. Not only is this incredibly Instagram worthy being next to the ocean and all but it is insanely delicious. The macadamia nuts add the perfect crunch to the ice cold tuna.

Another starter that I loved were the Chicken Tostadas – Aji Panca, Black Beans, Cheddar Cheese, Salsa Fresca. This comes with three medium sized tostadas bursting with flavor. They pile on the goodies about 3 inches high!

There are two things you need to order for your entrée, one is the Diver Scallops- butternut squash puree, curried cauliflower, Moroccan tapenade. Guys, these scallops are massive, seared perfectly and are like butter in your mouth.

The second thing you need to order is the Lobster Mac and Cheese – half pound lobster tail, rigatoni and mascarpone cheese sauce. First of all, the lobster tail in itself is worth it to order this. The fact that they switched up the traditional mac and cheese to use rigatoni and mascarpone, was a risk and they nailed it.

Now, everyone knows I’m all about the dessert. Oceans 234 has this completely under control. The Chocolate Trilogy – oreos baked between chocolate chip cookie dough and fudge brownie, blackberry cabernet, chocolate ganache. This is three layers of heaven, every bite is better than the next.
