‘Tis Miami Spice season, time to visit all those fancy restaurants that normally are out of our price range. Jaya at the exquisite Setai hotel in South Beach is thankfully participating. Some restaurants do not offer Miami Spice on the weekends, but Jaya offers it every night!

The Setai is a 2018 five-star recommended hotel by Forbes Travel Guide and the #1 Resort Hotel in Miami by Travel + Leisure Magazine. When one enters the sumptuous lobby you can instantly see and smell why.

A contemporary and serene Asian influence prevails throughout the property from the building’s interior décor to the menu at its signature on-site eatery. We highly advise you to eat outside in the magnificent courtyard pictured above!

Helmed by Executive Chef Vijayudu Veena, Jaya boasts standout dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, India, China and Japan. Jaya, which means ‘victory’ in Sanskrit, was named to honor The Setai’s renowned interior designer, Jaya Ibrahim.

Under Chef Vijay’s skillful direction, Jaya highlights the bold flavors of Asian cuisine. The menu artfully showcases regionally-specific dishes from all around Southeast Asia – with the majestic flavors of turmeric, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, chilies, coconut milk and tamarind.

For the Spice menu start with the wonderful Truffle Dumplings Steamed Scallop with truffle cream emulsion & shaved truffles. The scallops are succulent & the truffle cream bath is superb! Do not be afraid to savor the splendid foam directly from the bowl.

For the main course, the Lamb Chops with turmeric polenta, crispy okra, tomato chutney & lamb jus were mesmerizing. Some of the BEST chops the Shedonist ever had!! The Asian seasoning was hypnotizing and the turmeric polenta was an amazing, brand new take on polenta for us.

For dessert we always suggest getting both of the non fruit options 😉 Jaya offers a not too sweet PISTACHIO POT DE CREME with apricot compote, pistachio crumble & a very interesting and unique MOLTEN SESAME TART
with phenomenal blueberry yuzu sherbet.

Jaya also hosts an Asian Night Bazaar every Friday from 6PM to 12PM which includes a series of artistic performances, as well as Sunday Jazz Brunch from 11:30AM to 3PM, which is complemented by live jazz, free-flowing Roederer Champagne, classic breakfast selections and Asian-inspired rotisserie, seafood, and dessert stations.

Jaya is located at, 2001 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Breakfast is served every day from 7AM – 11AM; Lunch is served Monday – Saturday, 12PM – 3PM; Dinner is served Sunday – Thursday, 6PM – 10PM and Friday & Saturday, 6PM – 11PM.
