It’s All About the Atmosphere at MAÜ Miami

MAÜ Miami is quickly becoming a hot spot in Midtown. The Shops at Midtown Miami has been a home for big-box stores, trendy retail shops, outdoor events, and best of all delicious restaurants. Newest addition, MAÜ Miami has opened its doors just this past December and is already sizzling up the dining and drinking scene in Miami more than ever. MAÜ is a Modern Bohemian Mediterranean restaurant where two vibes collide and patrons enter the oases of Mykonos and Tulum.

Inspired by the Spiritual & Wild

The name MAÜ derives from the Northern part of Mykonos, known to be the most spiritual and wild part of the island. The entire restaurant concept and design is meant to keep the social life alive with music and entertainment coupled with an eclectic cuisine. MAÜ is truly a unique place that offers something for everyone providing fresh, tasty & powerful eats that embraces both cultures. With an authentic powerhouse team, Manager and Director, Nassos Pipenelis from SPILIA, the No.1 restaurant in Mykonos has inspired a lively dining atmosphere where guests can enjoy a signature cocktail menu created by mixologist Alexandros Christoforidis, from Athens himself or even indulge in MAÜ’s authentic hookah bar with several exotic flavors to choose from.

As guests make their way to MAÜ’s entrance, located right next to Sugarcane, there is a red rope that automatically makes you feel like you’re walking into a club as the host greets you. There is both indoor and outdoor dining and the ambiance makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a Bohemian paradise. The massive outdoor space features booth seating and hanging chairs surrounded by beautiful greenery and rustic-vibe decor. Inside, guests will find a live DJ with Miami locals and visitors indulging in all that MAÜ has to offer. Bottles come out with girls holding up a personalized sign and sparklers shooting to the ceiling, exactly the way you would see it at an upscale night club at two in the morning, but hey! It’s Miami right?

A 5-Star Dining Experience

Now, onto where we’re here…is the food even any good? With their Mediterranean fusion menu, MAÜ has really hit all the favorites, bringing out the culture and culinary heritage while showcasing their bohemian vibes. The delicious menu comes together magically by 5-Star Culinary Chef, Kosme. You can choose from a wide selection of imported fresh whole fish that will be on display in their fish market, along with a Raw bar, and live lobsters. A sneak peek of their unique menu consisting of fresh-cut high-end meats and seafood such as their Lobster Hawk, a whole lobster hugging a prime cut tomahawk steak. Guests can also enjoy the Tuna Putanesca made with Anchovy, Olives, Capers, Garlic, Local Farm Tomato, EVOO or Lavraki (branzino), imported whole fish. They also have the Tulum inspired, Kataifi Tacos, made with fresh tuna, black truffle, shallots, and cilantro air and frsh flare like the Ceviche Frito starter with Citrus Snapper or Beef Carpaccio with Shitake and Basil Aioli.

MAÜ Menu Favorites

In my opinion, the appetizers take the cake at MAÜ, but I was also very impressed with the Filet Mignon on the entrees side, made with Shitake, Boniato and a red wine demi-glaze. Upon being seated, we were instantly transported to the lush jungle environment where Tulum meets Mykonos. Peeking over the menu, we started off taking a bite into the Beef Carpaccio and I knew this restaurant isn’t just for show. I hadn’t had a Beef Carpaccio in ages and this one was made with Prime Striploin, Shitake, and Basil Aioli. The fresh ingredients and quality of the meat were to die for. I would come back just for that coupled with their House Bread, which was almost like a naan/pita style bread but served with Creme Fraiche and Farm Butter- so good! Second favorite appetizer was the Tiradito, which they serve with a mix of Salmon, Tuna, and Snapper served with Lemon, EVOO, and garnished to perfection. Pro-tip, dip the House Bread in the Tiradito Juice left on the plate. Thank me later!

A Toast to MAÜ

While savoring every flavor Chef Kosme carefully put together, the cocktail menu was shouting out for attention. The mixologists at MAÜ have included tropical drinks like the Mango Mojito and Passion or Strawberry Margarita. I absolutely loved the Chamomile Sour with Tanqueray, Camomile Syrup, Egg White, and Lemon Juice – highly recommended. All in all, if the Miami party scene is up your alley and you’re looking for a fabulous place to drink, eat, and play, MAÜ is the place to be. From the Mediterranean ambiance to the bohemian-inspired decor, guests will be able to soak up some serious Tulum vibes at this new restaurant and lounge. Maü Miami has guests covered with laid-back nooks, delicious food, sounds by live DJs, mouth watering drinks, hookah, and great company. What more do we need?
