Global Exotic Food & Wine Pairings at Oak Tavern

David Bracha, owner and executive chef of Oak Tavern the Design District’s popular neighborhood hangout, will be continuing the restaurant’s popular Tuesday night “AOC” (Appellation D’Origine Controlee) menu throughout the month of September 2014. Every Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., guests will be transported to different destinations around the world through unique food and wine pairings native to each region. Combining traditional small plates with complementary wine selections, Oak Tavern will take guests on a gastronomic world tour with stops in France, Italy, California, and Germany.

Moving across the globe, each week AOC will feature a different plate and wine pairing for $25 per person and will include two glasses of wine and two small plates. Tax and gratuity not included. Schedule as follows:

Tuesday, September 16th Sardinia, Italy

Slow braised baby octopus, day old bread

Wine – 2012 Vermentino, Tenuta Guado Al Tasso

Culunciones (potato-mint) ravioli, lamb ragu

Wine – 2007 Sella & Mosca Cannonau Di Sardegna Riserva

 

Tuesday, September 23rd Napa, California

Frisee, peach, Point Reyes original blue cheese, almonds

Wine – 2012 Viognier, Darioush

Braised beef cheek, crispy grits, poached egg

Wine – 2009 Cabernet Franc, White Cottage Ranch

 

Tuesday, September 30th Germany

Horseradish crusted bone marrow

Wine – 2008 Riesling, Mosel, Markus Moutor, Zeltinger Sonnenhur

Rabbit Schnitzel, potato salad, jus

Wine – 2011 Gruner Sil Vaner, Trocken Weingut
