Fish House Live at 1 Hotel South Beach this August

FISH HOUSE LIVE: 1 HOTEL SOUTH BEACH IS HOSTING A THREE-DAY SUSTAINABLE FOOD & BEVERAGE COMPETITION FEATURING ACCLAIMED NATIONAL & LOCAL CHEFS, BARTENDERS & SOMMELIERS THIS AUGUST.

Last year’s voyage of Fish House Live featured chefs from around the country. They presented three dishes to a panel of six judges and thousands of online viewers in hopes of being named the winner. Each event included dialogue and discussion with chefs around sustainability and responsible seafood. This year, guests are invited to name a new winner while enjoying the live dinner competition three nights in a row.

So What’s Fish House Live?

Taste Network and 1 Hotel South Beach are proud to announce the Miami edition of Fish House Live, three consecutive days of dinner competitions featuring a notable lineup of national and local chefs, bartenders, and sommeliers with live music by guest DJs. From Monday, August 2nd to Wednesday, August 4th, guests are invited to attend a nightly six-course dinner event that will feature:

  • Two acclaimed chefs going head-to-head preparing dishes made with sustainable seafood.
  • Two renowned bartenders serving up their version of the Fish House Punch (a spirited punch that which was first made popular in colonial America).
  • Sommeliers who will be pairing wines from Spain’s most distinguished wine regions.

The events will feature a prestigious lineup of chefs from around the country including Chef de Cuisine Ross Jansen and Giannina Barrantes of 1 Hotel South Beach, Chef Brad Kilgore (Miami), Executive Chef Chris Crary of 1 Hotel West Hollywood, Chef de Cuisine Denevin Miranda of The Osprey at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge and Chef Yia Vang of Union Hmong Kitchen (Minneapolis), to name a few.

Sommeliers Nick Rancone of Revival (Minneapolis), Griselda Rene of Byblos, and Fernando Zamudio of Vintage Liquors will be pairing and pouring more than 18 wines across three nights. Any additional chefs and the lineup of Miami’s top barkeepers and judges will be announced at a later date. 

Limited to 30 seats per night, guests will be welcomed with a beverage and plant-based sustainable table picnic by the 1 Hotel South Beach team. Immediately followed, a sommelier will present six wines from Ribera del Duero and Rueda, Spain’s two most prestigious red and white wine regions for a delightful tasting. As the night continues, two of Miami’s finest bartenders will hold tableside presentations for their Fish House Punch made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon. Finally, the crown jewel of the night consists of six courses of clean seafood dishes (such as crudo, tartare, poke, ceviche, and tiraditos). Chefs will look to score points from notable judges to earn a spot at the Fish House finale in Aspen. Sommeliers will aim to score a trip to Ribera del Duero and Rueda wine regions in Spain and barkeepers target a once-in-a-lifetime Bourbon Tour in Kentucky. 

Fish House Live is a celebratory atmosphere combining gastronomy and responsible aquaculture. Part live-event and part live-streaming, guests can purchase an extremely limited ticket to attend. Tickets are available for purchase at $150 per person, per event with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Support Surfside. The event will also be streaming on Facebook Live and followers at home are encouraged to go behind the scenes from their phones by toggling between Instagram Live feeds including Fish House Punch demonstrations and how to make crudos.  For the most up-to-date information, guests can follow @FishHouse.Live or @Habitatat1Hotel.
