Brava by Brad Kilgore Further Refines Miami

When people hear Miami they are immediately flooded with images of South Beach, partying and beautiful people, but we have added a depth of layers on top of that shallow facade over the past 15 years. Miami now boasts vibrant culinary, art and music scenes. Brava by Brad Kilgore, our newest addition, helps augment and highlight this growing trend.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is constantly bringing in entertaining and world class plays, music and comedy shows. A couple of my favorites I reviewed were an interactive adaptation of Alice in Wonderland and the mesmerizing H2Ombre. Now Miami’s most celebrated chefs, CHEF BRAD KILGORE, two-time James Beard Award semifinalist and co-owner of Wynwood’s famed restaurant, Alter, will curate the Arsht Center’s food and beverage offerings as Culinary Director!

The Center’s on-site restaurant, located on the second floor of the Ziff Ballet Opera House, is back with a revamped menu as BRAVA BY BRAD KILGORE . The setting is sublime and modern with symphonic Led Zepplin serenading your ears. You feel elevated just walking through the doors as the beauty encompasses you. The cuisine is deftly prepared by the wonderful Chef Jeff Maxfield, formerly of one of our fave Italian spots, Tosacan Divino.

Start with the Hierloom Tomato with  chili vinegar-compressed watermelon, olive fruit, agrodulce, cheese from today’s milk. I know tomato sounds soooooo boring, but this artistic rendition is quite interesting, flavorful with a nice burst of sweetness.

My fave dish of the night was this outstanding Chicken with rosemary, preserved lemon, asparagus, popcorn hollandaise. One of the most supple and gratifying versions I’ve ever had. This baby melts in your mouth with its creamy nature and captivates your buds. It also comes from one of the most delectable and distinguished chicken farms in the world!

The 3 day Beef Rib with maitake mushroom, toasted shallot dashi, smoked horseradish, young cabbage was another fine dish to round out your meal.

Now I do not like Key Lime anything. Not sure why people want a side of cringe with their desserts, but people were raving about the darling Chef Soraya Kilgore’s sexy Key Lime Cube with passion fruit, toasted merengue  african basil. If you are a key lime fan then indulge on this beauty,

BRAVA BY BRAD KILGORE will feature an á-la carte menu inspired by Chef Kilgore’s progressive cuisine. On performance days, the restaurant will offer scheduled seatings prior to all evening performances and matinees, as well as post-curtain seatings commencing at 8:15 p.m., for those not attending a show. All seatings are open to the general public.
