Angelo Elia Pizza Bar & Tapas – The Ultimate Italian Experience

From the wine to the mouth-watering meals, all the way to the cannolis, Angelo Elia Pizza Bar, Tapas nails the Italian cuisine experience on the head. Created by award-winning and highly acclaimed culinary maestro Chef Angelo Elia, Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar, Tapas is an upscale Italian eatery and wine bar which offers a modern take on traditional Tuscan fare in a chic, spacious setting. Chef Elia is widely recognized as a culinary star and one of the best Italian chefs in South Florida. Currently Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar, Tapas has four locations in South Florida (Weston, Ft. Lauderdale, Coral Springs and Delray Beach). We visited the Delray Beach location where we had a delightful dinner along with scrumptious sweets.

Wine

The true way to start an Italian dinner is with a nice glass of wine. We ordered the Costaripa ‘Rosamara’ Rosé and the Le Volte Super Tuscan. The Costaripa ‘Rosamara’ was light, smooth and not too sweet; one of the best Rosé wines I’ve ever tried. The Le Volte was a fresh fruity red blend with a medium body and clean finish.

Soup & Salad

Our first course consisted of the Quinoa Salad and Conch Chowder. The Quinoa salad was absolutely amazing. I am not a salad lover, but I ate every single bite of greens and quinoa. The salad had apple, spinach, raisins, pine nuts and white balsamic vinaigrette. It looked like I licked my plate clean (maybe, I did). Next, we tried the Conch Chowder; chopped filet of conch, celery, corn, tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, Spanish onions, sherry wine and spices. I had never tried Conch before and was a bit nervous going into it, but after just a few bites I realized I love Conch. The soup was carefully crafted to include the perfect amount of spices and veggies to create a lively medley soup. I used to love Clam Chowder as my favorite seafood soup, but now Conch Chowder from Angelo Elia Pizza Bar, Tapas is my new favorite seafood soup. 

Main Course

It’s time for the main course! We ordered the Grilled Salmon and Sesame Tuna Succotash. The Grilled Salmon came with roasted vegetables and potatoes. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the potatoes had just the right amount of spice. The Sesame Tuna Succotash was served pan seared sesame crusted yellow fin tuna with snow peas, grilled asparagus, cauliflower, roasted fingerling potatoes, summer corn sautéed in garlic & oil with aromatic herbs. This dish was absolutely delectable. The Chef did a wonderful job at creating this mouth-watering masterpiece.

Dessert

Finally, our favorite part, dessert! As a Shedonist, I am constantly seeking pleasure, and dessert at Angelo Elia Pizza Bar, Tapas is extremely pleasurable. There are various options to choose from. The Gelato Bar is on display with flavors like Stracciatella, Lemon, Mint, Caramel, Hazelnut, Oreo and many more. All of the gelato is homemade and you can taste the authenticity in the flavors. Plus, there’s a full dessert menu with desserts such as the Tiramisu, Ricotta Cheesecake and Chocolate Molton Cake.

First, we ordered the Apple Tart with homemade Cinnamon Gelato. This dessert was sweet, light and flaky; perfect to pair with coffee. Next, we ordered the Sicilian Cannoli with Caramel Gelato, this was prepared as a crispy cannoli shell filled with smooth ricotta mix with mini chocolate morsels, and chocolate sauce drizzled on top. This was by far my favorite dessert. The creaminess and flavor of the ricotta mix in the cannoli blended so well with the Caramel Gelato. I was so full from dinner, but still managed to eat every bite of this scrumptious dessert.

On top of the amazing food and dessert, the service at Angelo Elia Pizza Bar, Tapas in Delray Beach was incredible. My server Julio was very knowledgeable of the menu, made fantastic recommendations and ensured that our every need was met, creating a phenomenal experience for us. The manager also did a great job checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed. The Chef sent out spectacular looking dishes and they all tasted just as great as they looked, if not better. Often you go to a restaurant where the service doesn’t match the quality of the food, but that’s not the case at Angelo Elia Pizza Bar, Tapas in Delray Beach.
