When I travel I like to mix up the places I stay between hostels, hotels and airbnbs. The city I am visiting usually determines my sleeping arrangements. If I am in a boring city I always stay at hostels, because you can find a group of fun people to go out with. If I am visiting a really fun city, I will usually choose an airbnb, because you can find fun, cool people to hang out with all over town.
Budapest is one of those cities where I chose to stay at an airbnb. Budapest is so much freaking fun with backpackers literally littered all across the city. (Some backpackers have a tendency to pass out on the street from drinking 😉 It was a great opportunity to a take a break from the hostel and hotel life to stay at an airbnb.
When picking an airbnb the most important aspect is LOCATION! The best way to experience a city is by walking it, so you must stay in a centrally located spot. The airbnb I stayed at in Budapest was perfect. It was comfortable, adorable, affordable and right in the middle of town. Everything important, including my favorite spot, Szimpla Ruin Bar was within a 15 minute walk. If you are looking for a great spot to stay in Budapest, Lajos’s airbnb will do the trick.
