3 Ways to Consume Caffeine Without Drinking Coffee

Everyone knows that caffeine can be found in coffee, both in regular coffee and decaf varieties, but did you know there are other ways to consume caffeine without drinking coffee. Coffee is not to everyone’s taste or liking, so this is good news if you don’t like it as you don’t need to drink it to get that burst or kick of energy. There are ways you can consume caffeine without making major lifestyle changes.

Tea

Tea is a great source of caffeine and whether you like a cup of black tea or a cup of Earl Grey then you are in luck as they contain quantities of caffeine. The type of tea you drink is down to personal preference but if you are looking for a refreshing cup of tea to help provide balance and refreshment within your day then you will probably be looking at green teas. There are two main types of green tea and these are Chinese and Japanese. Japanese teas are sensitive and delicate and Chinese teas are milder and often sweeter, they are however both refreshingly delicious. Of courses within each type of tea there are several varieties, for example, within Chinese tea there is Jasmine Green Tea which is a beautiful fragrant sweet tea that is linked to relieving stress, and within Japanese teas, there are varieties such as Matcha this is a hugely popular green tea powder that is known as the healthiest of all teas, increasingly in its powder state, it is being used as a topping for food and other hot drinks.

Chocolate

Who doesn’t love a good chocolate bar, especially on those days when you need a little pick me up, but where is the caffeine found within chocolate and how much is in each bar Cocoa beans contain caffeine naturally, and when you come to choose a chocolate bar it is with considering the caffeine content in each one, specific data can usually be found on the back of the packet, or at the bottom of a bar. For example, dark chocolate has a high cocoa and caffeine content and milk chocolate has lower caffeine content. If you are trying to look for a quick caffeine boost then you should reach for the dark chocolate, if you are wanting to reduce your consumption then you should be heading towards the milkier varieties.

Also, as you consider mushroom chocolate bars, remember that they may also contain caffeine, depending on the type of mushrooms used and the chocolate’s cocoa content. These novel edibles are gaining popularity for their potential health benefits, so they might be an interesting alternative if you’re looking to diversify your caffeine sources. Just like with other chocolate bars, details on caffeine content would typically be provided on the product’s packaging.

Caffeine in Soda Drinks

One of the most popular ways to get a quick caffeine boost is to drink one of the ever-popular energy drinks on the market, but it is also worth knowing that popular soda drinks including cola contain caffeine even the low-calorie versions. Caffeine content varies and some sodas offer lower amounts per millimeter so always check the labeling before you consume. It is also worth remembering that unfortunately soda drinks and energy drinks often contain large amounts of sugar which, if consumed regularly, may have an adverse reaction on your diet, health, and overall wellbeing. Soda drinks are hugely popular and readily available so if you ever need a quick caffeine fix you would always be able to get your hands on a can or bottle of soda, just be careful with how much you consume as one may turn into two and that significantly increases your sugar intake.

Chocolate and soda drinks are convenient and easy ways to consume caffeine, but that does not mean that they are the best thing to consume. Everyone’s health and diet including your own is unique and should be carefully monitored to ensure that you are not consuming too much caffeine or sugar daily. It is not ideal to drink soda or energy drinks before bed or before resting due to their high caffeine content.

Tea is a brilliant way to get your caffeine fix and quite often it is healthier than soda or chocolate, especially if you don’t add sugar to your hot drink. A warm or hot cup of tea can help soothe ailments and feelings of low mood, so it can help you at any time of the day. With tea, you are more in control of what you are consuming, and you can take control of your intake, especially if you are making a cup, or pot of tea from leaves. With so many varieties of tea out there to choose from, including the more healthy and refreshing green tea varieties you do not need to look elsewhere for your caffeine fix, and this is of course great news for the coffee haters out there.
