Tiramesu New Lunch Menu Review – Miami

Tiramesu New Lunch Menu Review – Miami

We had the opportunity to visit Tiramesu in Miami Beach  and try out their new lunch menu. Tiramesu recently re-opened in a new location South of 5th with a revamped menu which now includes a select number of straight forward, authentic Italian dishes. The menu offers select anti pasta items for appetizers, salads, traditional entree dishes including risottos and pastas, and classic Italian desserts.

Tiramesu - Vitello Tonnato at tiramesu miami beach

Vitello Tonnato

We started off lunch with an antipasti dish, the Vitello Tonnato. This is veal that has been roasted overnight, served with a tonnato sauce, and sprinkled with fried capers. This is certainly an interesting dish that may be off putting for certain palates. I do recommend that those with adventurous taste buds give this antipasta plate a shot though, it can grow on you. The veal is sliced thinly and is paired with a tonnato sauce which is where things get very interesting. The Tonnato sauce delivers a very obvious tuna flavor and packs a salty punch. Crunchy croutons and fried capers dress the plate and provide very nice contrast in textures to the dish.

Pro Tip: Use the complimentary house bread to soak up any left over tonnato sauce.

Fettuccine Nere al Frutti de Mare at Tiramesu lunch

Fettuccine Nere al Frutti de Mare

The Fettuccine Nere al Frutti de Mare is a fettucine and seafood pasta dish. Squid black ink is used for the fettuccine which gives the pasta its iconic black color. Clams, mussels, and shrimp accompany the pasta. Personally, I find the Fettuccine Nere al Frutti de Mare to be a very straight forward, “You know what you’re getting” type of plate. The seafood is fresh and cooked judiciously. The pasta is made fresh daily and you can taste that freshness with the noodles. The addition of parsley at the end adds a nice freshness to the dish as a whole.

Tiramesu - Fettuccine al Coniglio tiramesu lunch

Fettuccine al Coniglio

Tiramesu’s Fettuccine al Coniglio pairs rabbit ragout with kale fettuccine. The rabbit ragout is rich, gamey and full of flavor. It pairs well with the subtle kale nuances in the fettuccine. The addition of kale to the pasta gives this fettuccine a green color and personally I noticed only a very subtle flavor from the kale in the pasta. The rabbit ragout does an excellent job at complementing any earthy input from the kale in the pasta.

Tiramesu - Risotto tiramesu lunch

Risotto

The risotto was one of my favorite dishes during my lunch at Tiramesu. It was rich, creamy, and alluringly aromatic. I recommend to get some freshly shaved parmesan cheese grated on your risotto before you dig in, I love the rich nutty flavor that Parmesan cheese adds to any dish. The inclusion of saffron to the risotto elevates the entire plate and adds a touch of hedonism to every bite. My recommended lunch menu item goes to Tiramesu’s risotto.

Torta Alle Mandorle tiramesu lunch

Torta Alle Mandorle

My absolute highest recommendation has to be for Tiramesu’s dessert, particularly the Torta Alle Mandorle. The Torta Alle Mandorle is an almond cake topped with ice cream. The texture in the cake itself elevates an already delectable dessert into food porn status. You get plenty of sweetness from the cake and additional crunch from the chopped almonds. Almond cakes have a distinct flavor that come along with the almonds and personally, I find it uniquely decadent. A scoop of vanilla ice cream is served over the cake to add creamy sweetness. You cannot visit Tiramesu and not order the Torta Alle Mandorle.

Try out Tiramesu for lunch where they are offering 3 courses for $20. The menu options for this $20 lunch deal are limited to a portion of the menu, but you can still try out a number of salads, authentic pasta, and tiramisu.
