The Gang Miami Review
The Gang Miami Restaurant is a super funky spot with a unique decor that boasts shutter door walls, old magazine tear outs, a unicycle, an old school arcade and a bar made of washing machines! The waiters are dressed like doctors so they can prescribe the right food for you. The fun 80’s music is the cherry on top that makes you want to get up and dance. The Asian fusion menu was cultivated over 6 years by the affable owner Bogdan who lived in Asia for over a decade as a professional Muay Thai kickboxer. We had a stellar meal and will highlight our favorite dishes in the video and article below.
The best dish of the night and also one of the best fishies I have ever had was the Ohyo Halibut with shrimp, truffles and drenched in a truffle sauce. The word heaven does not do this plate a smidgen of justice. The slight crunch of the buttery fish combined with the fluffy creaminess of the truffle sauce was a foodgasm of epic proportions. The juicy shrimp covered in truffles was a first for me and I never want to eat shrimp without truffles again.
The Shedonist went gaga for the Vietnamese Pork Rolls wrapped in lettuce with an exotic and spicy mint sauce. The warm pork coupled with the cool lettuce wraps was a beautiful contrast that was set off by the banging sauce that accompanied it. The sauce has some serious heat, so if thats your thing you will adore it. The Gang prides itself on being authentically Asian and Thai people love their food spicy, so if you want your food ridiculously hot, just ask and they will comply.
In addition, the Shrimp Dumplings had a superb flavor from the fried garlic and scallions. We also liked the Chicken Satay served with an authentic peanut sauce made with real nuts. It had a beautiful creamy peanut butter like texture with a slight kick.
Miami is not renown for its incredible Asian options, but The Gang Miami has arrived and offers authentic and scrumptious Asian fusion cuisine in an awesome setting at reasonable prices. Come on in and be part of The Gang.
