Slow Food Miami Accepting Nominations For Snail Of Approval Awards

Slow Food Miami – the local, 100% volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to “planting a fresher future for our children,” – is now accepting nominations for its prestigious Snail of Approval Award. Local foodies are invited to take part in the slow food movement by identifying and honoring Miami-Dade County restaurants, bars, artisans and local breweries and distilleries that support our local purveyors and provide good, clean and fair food in Miami. Nominations are open until Friday, February 24, 2017.

To qualify, restaurants must show a commitment to using local and sustainable ingredients by featuring locally sourced ingredients from at least two farms, and showcasing locally sourced ingredients in at least four dishes. The movement began in 2010 and has now grown to include over 50 restaurants, caterers, bars, beverage companies and artisans. Today, nominations come from the general public and are vetted by the Slow Food Miami Snail of Approval Committee.
