RUST Wynwood – The Best Spot For Your Next Date Night

RUST Wynwood – A Date Night Dream

The pure ambience of RUST is reason enough to go there. It’s perfect for a date night or a midday lunch. It has a RUST-ic (haha get it?) vibe, with old family photos on the wall and exposed light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Quite romantic if ya ask me. The owner is from Uruguay, but had a vision for a globally inspired menu and that’s exactly what he has achieved. Pro Tip: Start with the sangria – I really loved the mojito one.

The Ceviche Dorado – Mahi Mahi ceviche, served with aji-amarillo is so flavorful. We live in Miami and you’d think we would get sick of ceviche, but you know what? It never gets old. The mahi was tender and there was definitely enough to share.

We also started with the croquetas de campo – uruguyan sausage croquettes, arugula, aioli. These little fried balls are full of flavor and so easy to just pop in your mouth!

I’m on a mission to taste all of the octopus there is in Miami and the grilled octopus from RUST is no exception. It’s grilled marinated octopus, piquillo pepper aioli, provenzal potatoes. This one had a pretty good char on it – which I like, because then there are little crispy bits that crunch in your mouth.

If you’re feeling like something sweet, the dulce de leche flan is a game changer – classic sweet Spanish custard with a dulce de leche twist, finished with meringue. RUST hit this one out of the park. The flan was the perfect texture, and they do not skimp on the dulce de leche! The plate is basically covered in it – I may or may not have tried to lick it clean. Amazing to say the least.
