LaMuse Cafe – Encompassed by Exquisiteness

LaMuse is the place to go to awaken your senses and satisfy your stomach. Nestled inside of the trendy Avant Art Gallery in the Epic Hotel, one will find the impressive yet quaint-European inspired LaMuse Cafe. Its modern charm encompasses an array of eclectic art pieces ranging from street photography to iconic muses such as Frida Kahlo, the Mona Lisa and a corner where live moss is grown on the walls leading up to mesmerizing & whimsical light fixtures dangling from the ceiling.

There is no shortage for visual stimulation here, just as there is no shortage of divine menu items for your palate. LaMuse prides itself for their fresh dishes offering breakfast fare, gourmet salads, light bites, croissant sandwiches (or CroSubs as they have dubbed it), quiches and quality pastries.

I began perusing the menu while taking down a deliriously tasty C4+ Carrot Expressed Juice drink, which is only one of the many assorted refreshments available.

The afternoon feast began with an order of  Brigitte’s Burrata & Tomatoes ($16): Handmade Italian Burrata, Roasted Campari Tomatoes On The Vine, Walnuts, Fresh Basil Leaves, Pesto Smear, EVOO, Housemade Focaccia. The focaccia flat bread had delicious hints of herbs that made an excellent complement to the pesto sauce, basil leaves and creamily succulent burrata cheese. This dish was glorious!

Next on the exploding taste buds tour was the Smoked Salmon Tartine ($13): Cream Cheese, Cucumber, Capers, Dill, Pepper, Lemon Thinly sliced pieces of cucumber and fresh smoked salmon laid over a layer of cream cheese, all on top of a wedge of savory Zak’s bread. Another incredible symphony of delightful flavors.

If you are sharing plates, or simply have a large appetite like I do, then you should try the  Maple Turkey ($15): Imported Brie, Apples, Fresh Mint Leaves, Honey, Seal Salt, On Your Choice of Bread – served with saladThe combination of the brie and crisp apple slices meld well with the turkey and light hints of maple. The sandwich is accompanied with a delectable butter salad with a silk-like texture doused in a dressing you just cannot get enough of.

Because there is always room for dessert and you must try something at LaMuse, even if you have to cram it in to your bulging belly! LaMuse provides a variety of pastries to choose from. The Lemon Meringue Tart ($6) was beautifully put together and tasted just as good as it appeared.

If tarts are not your thing, then one can never go wrong with one of their warm and fluffy almond croissants or the classic Chocolate Croissant ($4) with a light sugary powder finish.

Everything about LaMuse is presented with great detail. From the art work adorning the walls, to the affluent and unique Italian silverware provided as well as the sultry menus enveloped in supple Italian leather. All the elements have been meticulously thought out and exquisitely sourced in order to give the customer a distinct and pleasurable experience. It splendidly titillated all my senses and I shall definitely be back for more…
