Jungle Island to Open Rainforest Riptide

Jungle Island is forecasting a wave of fun this spring break. The popular South Florida landmark attraction opens its much-anticipated Parrot Cove beach and exhilarating “Rainforest Riptide,” a floating obstacle course, on Saturday, March 21.

After getting up-close to some of the world’s most fascinating animals, park guests can head to Parrot Cove for more adventures under the sun. At this beach oasis located at the tip of Jungle Island, visitors can relax in lounge chairs and then cool off by wading into Biscayne Bay where the Rainforest Riptide awaits. This massive water playground features a series of fun obstacles including balance beams, action tower, trampoline, bridge, cliff, high jump, catapult, slide and swing. An adjacent climbing wall gives even the most gifted climbers a test of strength and endurance.

“We debuted Rainforest Riptide to much fanfare last summer and are excited to bring it back in time for spring break,” says Christopher Gould, Jungle Island’s managing director. “Jungle Island gives students more ways than one to enjoy South Florida’s tropical weather during an action-packed day that is fun for the whole family.”

Rainforest Riptide officially opens daily from March 21-29 and then on weekends until summer, when it will remain open seven days a week. With the cost of admission to Jungle Island, the entrance fee to Parrot Cove is free. An all-day pass to use the Rainforest Riptide is an additional $15 per person and $10 for annual pass holders. Corporate packages are available.
