Dave and Busters Team with Susan G. Komen for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

By Michael Vallens

The month of October represents many things, for some it might be the Major League Baseball’s World Series. Others will have tunnel vision towards Halloween. But for many people, October represents a time to support the fight against breast cancer. Dave and Busters at the Outlets in Orange is teaming up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help donate and support those who are in the midst of fighting this disease. Dave and Busters will be offering special seating tonight October 20 from 6pm to 8pm and will donate 10% of the evening’s proceeds directly to Susan G. Komen.

With family members who have both survived and those who have lost their battle against breast cancer, I was eager to participate and help support Susan G. Komen and Dave and Busters with this noble cause. Dave and Busters is a full service restaurant with an arcade that will bring out your inner child. It might be impossible to not have a good time at a Dave and Busters. Their menu options are so appealing, it is quite the challenge to pick just one menu item. This was true this particular evening.

Dave and Busters Bar Burgers and Wings

Filled with ambition and an incurable hunger, I decided to start with the Bar Burgers and Wings Sampler. This platter includes everyone’s two favorites, all on one plate. Four Mini-Cheeseburgers on Hawaiian rolls, paired with Dave and Busters Original Buffalo Wings and served with Seasoned French Fries.

The burgers were flavorful and the Hawaiian rolls added a delicate sweetness and texture which was quite remarkable. Dave and Busters Buffalo Wings were cooked just the way I like it. The tang and heat made those wings addictive. The French Fries were seasoned generously and came piping hot right out of the deep fryer. What a way to start…

Dave and Busters The Lawnmower

Looking to add some veggies in my life, I was transfixed on a salad known as The Lawnmower. Little did I know that the massive size of this salad could feed a small army. The Lawnmower is layered using fresh Romaine and Green Leaf Lettuce, Grilled Chicken, Diced Garden Vegetables, Boiled Eggs, Bacon Bits, and Bleu Cheese Crumbles. This salad is presented with all the items all lined up and looks aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Dave and Busters Short Rib and Cheesy Mac Stack

My final entrée was the Short Rib and Cheesy Mac Stack, consisting of tender sliced Short Rib, creamy Mac and Cheese and Bourbon-glazed onions sandwiched between two thick slices of sourdough and grilled to buttery, golden-brown goodness served with crispy seasoned Tots.

The Short Rib was tender and had that melt-in-your-mouth factor going for it. The Mac and Cheese provided a richness that helped compliment the smokiness of the Short Rib and the tangy Bourbon glazed onions. And who doesn’t enjoy seasoned Tots cooked with peace and love.

I don’t normally indulge in such gluttony, but I felt it necessary in order to support Susan G. Komen and Dave & Busters’ fight against Breast Cancer. The food and service were stellar this particular evening and I left feeling as if I had contributed to this important cause. As time moves on into the future, with your donations and support, we will eventually find a cure to this debilitating disease.
