Cows ‘n Cabs Review – Event Brings Central Florida Out to Play

Cows ‘n Cabs Review – Event Brings Central Florida Out to Play

On October 22, Central Florida’s annual Cows ‘n Cabs returned for its 6th year. The fall-centric event in Winter Park’s West Meadow featured more than 20 of Central Florida’s top restaurants, along with different alcohol vendors and a great raffle. Set in a (very) large tent, with lovely autumn themed displays and country music for all to enjoy, it truly felt like fall for the first time in our warm state.

Hosted by ABC Fine Wine & Spirits’ David Larue and 4Rivers Smokehouse founder John Rivers, the event benefitted the Community Food and Outreach Center and Elevate Orlando.

Some of the local favorites showcased were Taverna Opa, Tapa Toro, Black Rooster Taqueria, Morimoto Asia, P is for Pie, 4Rivers (duh) and STK – just to name a few!

Local band Jill’s Cashbox was on hand to keep us entertained with some festive and fun country music. Rumor has it that John Rivers himself joined the band later in the evening!

As ABC was a sponsor, of course the alcohol was flowing freely! Tons of beer, wine and cocktails were available to enjoy. Something new I tried was Tippy Cow Rum Cream: at first I was intrigued and skeptical. Alcohol that looks like milk? Well, milk does the body good because all of the flavors were delicious, and the lovely bartenders served up a plethora of mixtures.

The evening was indeed a good time had by all, including those hosting and performing. I’m looking forward to returning next year and seeing what new vendors are there to share. Tickets will be on sale next summer, so stay tuned for any updates!
