Amigos For Kids Miami Domino Night

Amigos For Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect by strengthening families and educating communities, celebrated its 15th annual Miami Celebrity Domino Night on June 17, 2017 at Jungle Island in Miami, FL.  The jam-packed celebration commemorated the organization’s milestone 25th anniversary. The party is always beyond fabulous with guests dancing the night away in jubilee.

Recognized as the organization’s signature event and the most anticipated annual fundraiser, the 2017 Miami Celebrity Domino Night glittered with an impressive celebrity Blue Carpet lineup. The event featured domino playing, cocktails courtesy of Presenting Sponsor Bacardí U.S.A., a silent auction with top-notch items, Grammy-winning live entertainment and culinary fare courtesy of some of South Florida’s leading chefs and restaurants.

“For 15 years, Domino Night has brought together South Florida’s top personalities, celebrities, and the community to stand up against child abuse and neglect.  Once again, our signature fundraiser surpassed expectations,” said Amigos For Kids President & CEO Rosa Maria Plasencia.

The 2017 Miami Celebrity Domino Night hosted nearly 1,700 supporters.  This year’s celebrity chairs included: Celebrity Emcee Hosts Telemundo TV Personality, Luis Alfonso Borrego; NBC6 Anchor and Amigos honorary board member, Jackie Nespral; and Univision 23’s Maria Fernanda Lopez.

Amigos Domino Night Celebrity Chairs helping to promote the organization’s mission were TV Host, Boris Izaguirre; Telemundo’s Un Nuevo Día Host, Adamari Lopez; Netflix’s One Day A Time Star, Justina Machado; Telemundo’s Carlos Ponce, internationally recognized actor, singer, songwriter and host; and one of America’s top Latina journalists Univision’s, Teresa Rodriguez.  Guests also included iconic celebrities and personalities such as Jacqueline Bracamontes, Jomari Goyso, Sofia Lachapelle, Johnny Lozada, Alicia Machado, Toño and Karla Mauri, Sonya Smith, Maki Soler, and Felipe Viel to name a few.

Domino Night’s live entertainment included Grammy winner Marlow Rosado & El Tucán Band, Miami HEAT’s DJ Irie and a midnight laser light show.

Guests enjoyed South Florida culinary fare showcased by Baptist Health South Florida, Edda’s Cake Designs, First Watch, Giardino Gourmet Salads, Goya Foods, Jungle Island, Café La Carreta, Los Ranchos Steakhouse, Mena Catering, Oh Chocolat!, Paella Tropical, Poké Bar, Papa John’s Pizza, Sushi Maki, and Versailles Cuban Restaurant.

Miami Celebrity Domino Night funds aid programs including the Jose Martí Park after-school program; the Amigos Strengthens Families & Communities Nurturing Parent program; the annual back-to-school and holiday toy drives, and the Amigos For Kids yearlong There’s NO Excuse For Child Abuse!® Blue Ribbon Campaign and prevention efforts.
