AceBounce – Drink, Play, Eat, Repeat

By Josephine Layug

Do you like happy hour drinks? Do you like having fun with friends? Do you like good food? If you answered yes to all these questions grab your friends and head on over to AceBounce!

Wine and cocktails, ping pong, food, repeat. This is exactly what my friends and I did at Ace Bounce located in the loop. AceBounce is a fun atmosphere to let loose and hang out with friends. If you don’t know how to play ping pong, no worries, they have someone to teach you and you can participate in pop-up ping pong tournaments! It’s a great way to make new friends too. I have to warn you: the games can get a bit wild if you are the competitive type, but all in good fun!

My favorite part about AceBounce was the food, from the appetizers all the way to dessert. We had Pork Skin Nachos, White Pizza with Shaved Truffles, Veal Rolls, Meatball Pizza, Fried Chicken Skin Pizza, Sausage and Rabe Pizza, Nutella Pizza and Loaded Donut Holes. We needed fuel to play all that ping pong, right?

The Pork Rinds where crispy and light, and the cheese sauce and the toppings were flavorful with a nice kick after each bite. The veal rolls were also a great appetizer. They were covered in panko breading with red marinara sauce for dipping. I kept going back for these rolls! We got to try three of AceBounce’s pizzas. My favorite pizza was the white pizza with shaved truffles, which is weird since I almost always have some sort of meat on my pizza. The difference with this white pizza with truffles is that it was so light and simple but filled with lots of flavor.

The two winning dishes we had are the dessert options which is the Nutella pizza and loaded donut holes! The Nutella pizza was basically an open crepe with Nutella and strawberries and banana. The donut holes were a crowd favorite. I can’t decide if it was the chocolate drizzle or the bacon that won me over, but they are the best!
