In honor of World Ocean Day on Tuesday, June 8th, 1 Beach Club at 1 Hotel South Beach has partnered with Debris Free Oceans to host a beach clean up to ensure mother nature remains preserved for all of us to enjoy!
World Oceans Day is an international day that takes place annually on the 8th of June. The concept was originally proposed in 1992 by Canada’s International Centre for Ocean Development and the Ocean Institute of Canada at the Earth Summit. The purpose of the Day is to inform the public of the impact of human actions on the ocean, develop a worldwide movement of citizens for the ocean, and mobilize and unite the world’s population on a project for the sustainable management of the world’s oceans.
The event is open to the public and will commence with the beach clean up on 24th and Collins, followed by a complimentary cocktail or Kombucha at 1 Beach Club. All proceeds from event ticket sales will benefit Debris Free Oceans, a Miami-based organization that inspires local communities to responsibly manage the lifecycle of plastics and waste as part of a global initiative to eradicate marine debris from our beaches, reefs, and oceans.
This event takes place this Tuesday, June 8th from 11:00AM – 12:00PM. The ticket sale includes:
- Beach Cleanup Supplies
- Token for (1) Ilegal Mezcal Cocktail or (1) Radiate Kombucha
- Raw Elements Ocean and Reef Friendly Natural Sunscreen
