W Miami’s New Chef Mesmerizes at ADDiKT

W Miami, recently named the #4 Miami Hotel in Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards, is proud to introduce Ricardo Jarquin as executive chef at the hotel and sexy restaurant ADDiKT . The award-winning chef will oversee all culinary operations for the hotel, including the curation of the menus for the hotel’s signature restaurant, ADDiKT, the WET Deck Café at the newly reopened 15th floor pool, and in-room dining.

We were invited in to try the new menu and everything was exceptional! The chef is down to Earth and cooks with tremendous love and passion. He weaves his decades of experience from some of the best restaurants he worked out to create a menu that will captivate your taste buds!

Chef Jarquin joins W Miami from his previous position as executive chef of Silverado Resort, a Dolce Hotel, in Napa, California, where he led all food and beverage operations for the 350-room luxury resort. While at Miami High School, Chef Jarquin discovered his love of cooking after enrolling in a culinary arts program sponsored by prostart.

This led to his introduction to executive chef of Palme d’Or, Philippe Ruiz, at the Biltmore Hotel, who then provided Chef Jarquin with his first job in the industry where he was eventually promoted to banquet chef. He further followed his passion by enrolling at Johnson & Wales University to receive his degree in Culinary Arts, and cut his teeth in kitchens with Miami culinary mavericks including Michelle Bernstein and Michael Schwartz.

Chef Jarquin’s career continued to be lined with success and accomplishments, earning his first role as executive chef in seven short years at ULU Ocean Grill in Four Seasons Hotel in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He established himself as a force in the culinary world, working with Michelin star chefs such as Daniel Boulud and Jean Georges in New York City. Chef Jarquin landed executive chef roles at other top restaurants and hotels in major cities across the United States, including the Five Diamond rated Langham Hotel in Chicago.

“To me, American cuisine is a blend of different ingredients, flavors, gastronomy, and cultures – which parallels what Miami, as a city, represents” says Chef Jarquin, “ADDiKT’s new menus have dishes inspired by my travels and the many talented chefs I have met throughout my career. I’m excited to be back in my hometown and especially thrilled to be putting my name on the map at W Miami, which already has such a strong reputation not just in our city, but globally.” 

Before we dive into the cuisine take a moment to thoroughly enjoy the libations. We enjoyed all 3 of these lovely concoctions!

NAMAHA – gin, lemon juice, chambord, homemade syrup.

EL JIBARITO – lychee infused rum, velvet falernum, demerara.

HUNTSMAN – scotch, cardamom, rosemary & blueberry reduction, lemon juice, pomegranate.

We truly were delighted by all the Chef’s offerings, but we will highlight our faves here!The Picadillo Empanadas piquillo with pepper aioli & cilantro were stupendous. Perfectly fried and seasoned!

The Ham & Gruyere Croquetas with roasted garlic aioli / membrillo jam / pimenton were the best croquetas the Shedonist ever had!!! All the flavors melded together in a hypnotic fashion and it was impossible to eat just one! She pounded so many of these it was hard for her to keep up the rest of the meal.

The Octopus Anticucho with salsa anticuchera / aji amarillo aioli / crispy sweet potato / habanero onions was another stellar plate. Octopus is hard to cook properly but Chef Jarquin only served us mesmerizing dishes!

We also loved the Corn Risotto with crispy pork belly and the Little Gems with lemon garlic dressing / sliced prosciutto / padano crumble /chives / boquerones.

The Chef can cater some of these dishes for vegetarians so do not be afraid to inquire! ADDikt has a sultry setting, wonderful waitstaff and a menu that will blow you away. This is a restaurant you should run to!

ADDiKT’s Hours of operation are 7:00 am–11:00 am for Breakfast daily; Lunch Mon–Fri 11:30 am–3:00 pm; Brunch: Sat, Sun 11:30 am–3:00 pm; and Dinner daily 5:00 pm–11:00 pm.
