Vertex Festival 2016 – The Artists that move us

Buena Vista, Colorado, is home to some of the most majestic mountains in the country, namely the Collegiate peaks.  Nestled in the Sawatch Range, this group of 6 “14ers” make for a one of a kind backdrop that only Colorado can provide.  The people at Madison house and AEG could not have picked a better spot this close to Denver, to bring us the Vertex Festival 2016!!

The desired effect when entering any festival gates, is to enter another world when you reach the other side. With giant 14,000 foot mountains, quaint little cottages full of balloons, larger then life stage set ups, each with it’s own unique feel… this effect was was more then achieved.  The smiles on the festival attendees faces were representative of the experiences being had.

Bringing both Electronic crafted music, as well as rock and blue grass sounds, this unique festival provided a one of kind musical experience for anyone lucky enough to attend the inaugural year.  What an amazing festival, seriously, they had everything and then some.  The line up was ridiculous with Odesza bringing the artists off their new label, the Foreign Family collective.  A super group of  artists like Jai Wolf, RÜFÜS Du Sol,  and Big Wild who all have that same way of taking you on percussive musical adventures.  Gramatik, always one of my favorites at any festival, this set was pure fire and the best way to end a Friday night.

But you say you want something different?  Something a little more organic, rocky or dare I say Crunchy? They had that covered and then some. Always a Colorado favorite (Growing up here it seems like he was playing here weekly) Trey Anastasio and his band wrapped up the weekend,   Lettuce on Saturday got us excited an moving before Odesza, and Alabama Shakes let us know exactly what “Grammy Winner” sounds like. Brittany Howard, thank you for sharing your soul with us. You seriously are something from another planet lady, it was one of my favorite performances I have ever had the privilege to capture. When you come back to Denver lets do it again.  This album is for the  Vertex Festival 2016 and the artists that move us!
