Celebrate Summer at the Inaugural Vertex Fest
First-time-ever Vertex Fest comes to Buena Vista, Colorado August 5-7th bringing music junkies from all over together to celebrate music, beautiful nature, and festival vibes.
Headlining the event will be our personal favorites, ODESZA, 4-time Grammy winners The Alabama Shakes, and 2 sets from the Trey Anastasio Band that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their phenomenal lineup. We’re really looking forward to seeing Jai Wolf, considering we missed him at Decadence in January. Rufus Du Sol put on a great performance at the recent ODESZA show mid-June. And with the splash Seven Lions has been making across social media, I’m really looking forward to seeing him in action. Check out his video:
Now, it wouldn’t be a Colorado mountain festival without some Colorado mountain activities. Vertex Fest attendees have the ability to go on Field Trips in the mornings before the music. These adventures are an awesome chance for you to adventure out with your friends or make some new ones. Take a scenic rafting trip over mild rapids, only $65 and a 10 minute bus ride you can experience small class 1 & 2 rapids and completely immerse yourself in stunning views of the Rocky Mountains. And at night, come back for the amazing tunes and amazing production with the likes of Odesza or The Claypool Lennon Delirium.
If rollin’ down the river isn’t your thing you can explore on foot with the Vertex Hancock Hike and Ghost Town Field Trip. Providing breakfast, you can hike the 6-mile (round trip) excursion through beautiful wildflowers and ghost-townie scenes. This trip only costs $25 with a $10 donation to The Greater Arkansas River Nature Association.
If you’d rather stay a little closer to home, you can enjoy the Disc Golf Field Trip or have fun exploring downtown Buena Vista. Nestled at the foot of the continental divide, you can enjoy several art galleries, shop awesome stores, try some new food or enjoy a beer at the local brewery.
Vertex Festival will also be featuring a beach, just because you’re in the mountains doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your more traditional idea of summer fun. Stick your toes in the sand and relax by the shores of the beautiful spring-fed pond. The first music of the day will start at the beaches, and the nights will wrap up with a classic silent disco. Don’t forget your hammocks and slack lines to truly enjoy the atmosphere surrounding the beach; oh and definitely don’t forget to hit up the island bar.
Colorado is seriously stepping up its summer festival activities this year. Bringing so many first-addition festivals to the forefront. Vertex is expected to be one of the best festivals in 2016. Its vision inspired by the majestic scenery the event will be held. Nestled in a vast revitalized working ranch, surrounded by the snowcapped Collegiate Peaks, Vertex Festival merges the best of all worlds to create a feel that anything is possible.
