With live performances taking place every Friday and Saturday from 10PM – late, guests enter the complex in Mana Wynwood and are drawn into a dimly-lit room. Much in the spirit of Mana’s auto repair shop, the venue is adorned with exhaust pipes, wheels, and shipping containers. Even the artists and staff are dressed like mechanics. The show’s design is meant to evoke the aesthetic of an urban, industrial cityscape. Guests cannot help but be absorbed into the spectacle, enabling them to disconnect from their lives and enter into another realm.

Rather than invest in a massive production, creator Sover Atlan sought to prioritize authenticity and the beauty of raw talent. He also hopes to embolden the audience by redefining the way in which we consume art. The idea is to shift from passive to active modes of consumption. The line between artist and voyeur, production and performance, is blurred. In effect, its intimacy is part of its charm.

Billed as a “sweat experience,” the audience is thrust into the artist’s production space. In this way, attendees are given the opportunity to consume both the artistic product, as well as something much rarer – the intense, vulnerable humanity of the creative process. The stagnant and antiquated experience of the museum walk-through is exchanged for something more immersive, modern and alive. Both art and artist are present.
