Members of Shipt in Orlando Now Enjoying Alcohol Delivery

 

My life is seems to be becoming increasingly more convenient with each passing day. Now, with the launch of a partnership between ABC Fine Wine & Spirits and Shipt in Orlando, that convenience has leveled up: I don’t even need to leave my home for adult beverages.

I chose to give Shipt a try on a lazy Saturday. It was raining, I had no plans, and I wanted wine! Once I joined online, I was directed to download the app. I entered my credentials and voila: Publix and ABC at my fingertips.

I placed my order at 2pm; I selected the 4-5pm delivery window, which was the first available, though there were many windows open later in the evening.

The app is extremely user-friendly: they have popular picks listed first, or you can go in and search by brand/type of alcohol (or food – ABC has some tasty treats!). Once I made my selections – mostly wine, but I threw in some gin to switch it up a bit! – I went to checkout.

Very easy checkout process; address and card info, plus any delivery instructions, and you’re set! Now, I just had to wait.

Around 3:00, I received a notification that someone had accepted my order and was en route to ABC. At 3:30 on the dot, I received a personal text stating my order was complete, my delivery driver was on their way, and to have my ID ready when I answered the door. Efficient!

My lovely delivery woman arrived shortly after, with no difficulties maneuvering her way through my apartment building. She scanned my ID on her nifty contraption and was on her way! I had a box full of alcohol for the weekend (err…week?), delivered earlier than expected.

I got a notification when she arrived that my order was delivered and I could now tip within the app. They gave me a few different tip options, I selected the appropriate amount, and submitted it. I liked this aspect the most: I rarely have cash to tip, and users are able to adjust accordingly based on what they feel is deserved.

All in all, I placed a huge alcohol order and it was delivered to me before I finished two episodes of Game of Thrones (rewatching, duh). Did I feel lazy? Yes. But did I feel good about it? Yes! And that is what really matters, right?!

Shipt in Orlando is available in Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties for a yearly fee of $99 and a $7 delivery fee per use. Happy shopping!
