Santorini by Georgios – A Hidden South Beach Greek Gem
My “job” is to find the best restaurants for our readers to eat at, so it is not often that a stellar one slips past my radar, but it did with the Santorini by Georgios restaurant. This lovely Greek establishment is nestled in the The Hilton Bentley South Beach Hotel. I highly recommend dining there in daylight to immerse yourself in the serene pool and plam trees. The Greek fare was awesome and I felt like I was on vacation dining there.
Santorini by Georgios presents authentic, fresh Greek and Mediterranean cuisine that is locally sourced from the freshest farms and fisherman. Executive Chef, Owner and Creator Georgios Vogiatzis offers a menu of recognizable yet creative dishes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch in a lively, upscale yet casual pool and beachside atmosphere with friendly and professional service.
To complement the cuisine, Santorini has created a refreshing selection of cocktails, comprising house-made elements like purees and infusions. The beverage program includes full beer and wine lists as well as large exotic fruit cocktails, sold in hollowed out pieces of fruit, such as pineapples and watermelons. The “Giant Bowl” menu also consists of beautifully crafted cocktails in bowls large enough to share – and perfect for taking that “I’m on vacation” Instagram photo.
Let us dive into the wonderful cuisine with a monumental appetizer. The Meze Dip Platter was composed of Tzatziki, Hummus, Taramas, Skordalia and Babaganoush, served with pita bread and fresh vegetables and was truly sensational. All 5 dips were tasty and were left on the table for the remainder of them meal to compliment our other cuisine. Dips always make your meals exponentially better!
Another spectacular dish was the Labraki/Branzino served with Greek lemon potatoes and grilled vegetables. This Branzino was large, juicy, perfectly cooked and oh so fresh.Just look at how the juiciness glistens in the photo above.
Whatever you do just make sure to save room for the Galaktoboureko, served with vanilla ice cream. This freshly baked greek pastry is worthy of the fabled Greek Gods mouths. Was not too sweet and insanely flaky and creamy. I still dream about this one.
Santorini by Georgios was such a treat. A tropical ambiance with excellent service and some fantastic must try Greek dishes. It shall be a pleasure to return and try their other delicacies.
