ROK BRGR Brunch Review
ROK BRGR is a power house in the South Miami-Sunset culinary scene. Well known for their burgers, they’re just as popular for their kick ass brunch. I’ll give you the inside scoop on the ROK BRGR brunch experience. As you walk up to the restaurant on Sunday morning you can sense the energy from the live Dj and upbeat ambiance from the crowd waiting to be seated.
There’s a very hip and lively feel to the eating experience. Mimosas everywhere! ROK BRGR is one of the few spots offering free mimosas for ladies and a live DJ delivering a highly entertaining atmosphere for brunch. In fact, the vibe during brunch at ROK BRGR is one of the most upbeat in South Florida! Now let’s get to the food!
Rok Biscuits
These are awesome, plain and simple. You get braised short rib layered with American cheese and smoked bacon sandwiched in between a honey butter biscuit. Three to the order. PLUS there’s maple syrup for dipping or pouring on your biscuits. The sweetness from the maple syrup complements the savory flavors from the short rib, bacon, and buttery biscuits. This is the perfect brunch small bite to get things going.
Lobster Corn Dogs
Have you ever had lobster corn dog before? Yea, probably not. These are a must try! The corn dogs are served with spicy honey mustard for dipping. Though they’re the only menu I’ve seen with lobster corn dog, they’ve set the bar high for any future imitators. These lobster corn dogs are the real deal!
The Shrimp & Grits
6 Florida shrimp come to the order laid on top of hearty South Carolina stone ground grits. If you’re not a fan of grits or have never tried them before, do yourself a favor and TRY THIS ONE! The grits come with a jalapeno cheddar cheese blend that is out of this world. The jalapenos and cheddar cheese enhances the grits and delivers a hearty deep flavor. The grits were so rich and flavorful, when combined with the shrimp it was outrageous. This was the highlight of the brunch for me. Heavy, filling, salty, and excellent seasoning. You won’t be disappointed.
Pancakes of the day
The pancakes of the day this weekend were actually waffles…The chefs daily creation using fresh and seasonal ingredients were Banana nut blueberry cream waffles topped with caramel and chocolate syrup. I’ll let the picture speak for itself.
French Toast
Thick cut challah bread with some mascarpone cream berries and maple syrup. This is a prime example of simple but effective…..The basics executed perfectly. Thick pillowy challah bread french toast are tender and come covered with creamed berries that delivers plenty of sweetness.
