Robert’s Pizza Company – Breakfast Pizza Never Tasted So Good
Written and Photos by Jessica Lewandowski
Chicago is one of the best cities in the world, but living in the Windy City is a curse when the freezing weather hits. Ducking behind tall buildings just doesn’t cut it anymore, so we resort to the next best thing: hot food and booze. Robert’s Pizza Company had granted us these salvations, and thankfully, they’ve introduced a new brunch menu!
My friend and I started with the best part of the cold-weather-cure: the booze. Robert’s Pizza Company offers a Bloody Mary, but I chose the Bloody Maria, which is made with Patron Reposado. I get a little picky with Bloody anythings because I feel they’re often too salty, but this drink was easy the slurp down! My friend ordered the Brunch Money: Patron XO Café, Hot Coffee and Heavy Cream. It was straight up spiked coffee!
We appreciated the brunch menu at Robert Pizza Company because it was pretty short (and sweet). The restaurant still offers its full menu during brunch, which we’ve reviewed before. We loved the breakfast pizzas, though! We ordered the Huevos Rancheros Pizza, which was LOADED with Black beans, Chorizo, Queso Fresco, Scallions, Cilantro, Salsa Verde and four Fried Eggs. I promise you, they don’t skimp on any of the ingredients! We also ordered the LoxZa Pizza, which was basically a New York bagel on a pizza crust: Smoke Salmon, Cream Cheese, Chives, Red Onion, Capers, Chopped Egg and Dill Garnishes. I’m a sucker for lox bagels, so this was a slice of Heaven for me.
We also ordered the ZaDough Cinnamon Buns. They were sweet, sticky and super delicious. What’s really cool about these cinnamon buns is that they were made from Robert’s Za Dough – the same dough used for the pizzas. I swear, we wouldn’t have known if we hadn’t been told.
P.S. We took home a lot of leftovers.
P.P.S. We ate all the leftovers the same day.
Robert’s Pizza Company is open Tuesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
