Quattro Miami Spice Preview
Over the past several years Lincoln Road has undergone many changes; so many favorite shops and restaurants have come and gone. That’s why it’s ever so wonderful, that Quattro Miami, the authentic Italian eatery on 1014 Lincoln Road is still there. This year Quattro Miami is celebrating nine years in their location! Featuring dishes from the Northern Italian region, Quattro is not only popular with tourists; it’s also a locals favorite.
Knowing this Quattro’s General Manager, Roberto Sanso from Napoli, shares that they change the menu often to keep things new and fresh for their regular guests. Something interesting to note is that they’ve kept a running history of every single menu since since they opened. Each year they revisit the menus and determine what they will bring back for Miami Spice.
This year’s Miami Spice’s menu is a bit of the old and the new. Whether you want to go for lunch or dinner, you are sure to be delighted with the scrumptious creations on both menus.
On the lunch menu you have two appetizers to choose from. Both are fantastic but there is something captivating about the Aranchi Alla Siciliana. This dish is what you get when you mix rice with a bit of heaven. It’s no wonder locals go crazy for this. It’s a classic Sicilian finger food; a crispy saffron rice ball stuffed with green peas and beef ragu that you can eat in three bites or less. The parmesan cheese shavings at the top add the final touch. See how they gracefully rain upon the fried balls below.
Quattro Miami main courses feature an amazing pasta dish and a perfect seafood offering. You can’t go wrong with either one but I really loved the Pesce Spada Alla Griglia Con Salsa Di Limone E Spinaci. If you’re a fish lover, this grilled swordfish with lemon sauce and sautéed spinach will rock your world. The lemon sauce in this dish is the key. It adds just the right amount of acidity and bitterness. The spinach is lightly cooked so it still has a bit of snap to it; creating a nice texture. Take a little piece bread and dip it in the left over sauce.
Quattro Miami Spice’s dinner menu is equally just as delicious as lunch. It’s hard to pick between the appetizers, so if you’re dining with someone each person should pick one and share. The Insalata Di Rape E Caprino Con Pomodori Del Contadino E Rucola extraordinary and has roasted beets, goat cheese, multicolored tomatoes and arugula. I’ve never been a big fan of beets until I tried this salad. The creaminess and tanginess of the goat cheese, the refreshing tomatoes, and the earthy taste of the beets all complement each other well.
The second option is the Frittura Di Calamari E Zucchine. This is the best calamari I’ve had in a very long time. There is nothing overly fancy about this calamari. What makes it so delicious is that it’s fresh, not overly battered and fried to perfection. The added zucchini enhances the flavor. It’s served with a spicy and savory marinara sauce so tasty I could have eaten it on its own. A squeeze of the fresh lemon across the top completes the experience.
When you’re ready for the main course I highly recommend the Orecchiette Con Salsiccia Broccolini e Pomodorini Pachino. This phenomenal pasta dish celebrates the glory that is Italian sausage; salty, savory, with strong notes of herbs and spices. The broccolini and cherry tomatoes help balance the dish while the Orecchiette pasta (from the Italian word “orecchia”, meaning “ear” because of its shape) ties everything beautifully together.
For dessert, Quattro Miami Spice’s menu options are irresistible. The Profitterol, a sinfully delicious creamy puff pastry with chocolate and custard cream, is a must try. Though light and fluffy, it’s very indulgent.
Overall, Quattro Miami Spice is a gratifying and memorable dinning experience. Miami Spice runs from now until September 30th. Their entire menu is available on their site here.
