Pizza Craft Ft. Lauderdale – Homemade Italian Cuisine
Ft Lauderdale restaurants are starting to bring it and Pizza Craft is a great spot to sample sweet homemade Italian fare. Pizza Craft is the newest spot from the owners of Rok:Brgr, Himmarshee Public House, and Tacocraft Tacqueria and Tequila Bar.
Pizzacraft proffers pasta made fresh every day, pizzas cooked neo-Neapolitan-style in a wood-fired oven imported from Italy and a beautiful selection of wines and craft beers. At the helm is Chef Dan Hernandez.
Start off with a Baby Amarone, a smooth and reasonably priced glass of premium Italian Red. Couple this with the Heirlooms and Burrata with torn local basil, extra virgin olive oil. The colorful tomatoes are steroid sized and pair well with the juicy fresh cheese.
Next up go with a stellar pizza. According to Pizza Craft “Our artisan pizzas are made to order and cooked in our wood burning oven. Served with a charred crust using old world technique with chef driven and local ingredients.
Flour: artisan “00” blend with ancient grains
Oven: handbuilt wood burning oven
Water:Filtered vero water
Dough: 36hr proof tomatoes: imported san marzano d.o.p from italy
Cheese: all mozzarella and ricotta is homemade daily produce: always fresh & always local.”
We opted for the Smoked Bacon with scallion cream, fingerling potato, cave aged gruyere, fontina, “Miami Smokers” bacon, caramelized onion, scallion, e.v.o.o. Not usually a fan of white pizzas with no sauce, but this was incredible. Aged gruyere is one of the best cheeses and the onions and Miami Smokers Bacon made this pie the Truth.
Want to make Pizza even more spectacular? Italian Truffle Honey is a life changing topping to your pizza. I bring it with me when I dine out and Amazon will hook you up:
If you still can fit more in and subscribe to the notion that chubby is the new skinny then try the Rigatoni Vodka with vodka cream, english peas, mascarpone. The fresh pasta was soothed by the light vodka sauce and creamy mascarpone.
There is always room for dessert when we dine, so we opted for the Mocha Creme Brulee. The mocha cream was a bit addictive and a nice light dessert after a heavy and deelish meal.
Also check next door at the comfy Apothecary 330 for an impressive and wide selection of drinks in a speakeasy environment.
