Osteria La Buca – Let the Brunching Begin
By Samantha Dockser
Anyone who knows me can tell you I am a big fan of brunch. Rare is the Sunday when I am not sipping a cappuccino and dining on French toast or waffle. And I just found my new go to LA brunch spot. Osteria La Buca, located on Melrose in West Hollywood, is warm, welcoming, and ridiculously delicious.
Osteria La Buca prides itself on its casual, cozy dining experience. They aim to reflect a less complicated, grass roots approach to Italian country food. And they succeed. With fresh, seasonal ingredients, I dare you to find one item on the menu that doesn’t leave you more than satisfied.
My bunch buddy, Blair, and I started our morning with two tasty lattes and the House Riccata Toast. The toast is heavenly. Served with caramelized agave and blueberries, this is a must try dish. Also it’s gorgeous and perfect for that “eating for the insta” moment.
Next we devoured Osteria La Buca’s California Toast. Toasted Rosemary Sourdough piled with avocado, scrambled eggs, and arugula salad. I especially loved the crunch of the toast combined with the soft, warm eggs and avocado spread.
Lastly, we tasted the star of the morning: Bucatini Carbonara served with house pancetta, black pepper, and a poached egg. This right here is a hedonist’s dream come true. And fear not my gluten free friends, because Osteria La Buca offers a gluten free version of this incredible dish.
I wish I could have tried dessert but by that point you could have rolled me home I was so full. With its open-air floor plan and homey exposed brick walls, Osteria La Buca will make you feel at home instantly. And it will leave your taste buds begging for more. You would be making a huge mistake if you didn’t book your next brunch here immediately.
