Novecento Brickell – A Taste of the Old World in the Heart of Miami
By Samantha Dockser
Novecento Brickell takes the old mantra “me casa es su casa” and brings it to the next level. Casually elegant, with a secluded patio, Novecento Brickell feels like you’ve stepped off the streets of Miami and into a small European village.—but with Latin American influences, of course. Needless to say, the Novecento Brickell brunch is not to be missed.
The meal began with a basket of bread, and while it was quickly devoured, I would urge you to save your appetite for all that is yet to come.
My brunch squad and I devoured a plate of steaming hot beef, chicken, and cheese empanadas. They were incredible. The flaky outer pastry with the runny, moist fillings was sensational. Available all day long, these empanadas are the real deal.
Next the brunch crew shared the Eggs Benedict Entranita, the Omelet Any Style, and the French Toast.
The Eggs Benedict Entranita: Served on a toasted English muffin with Canadian bacon, two poached eggs meet grilled skirt steak in this hedonist’s heaven. It is all topped with Hollandaise sauce and served with a side of fries. This traditional dish is a brunch fan favorite.
My brunch bros got their Omelet with peppers, onions, and spinach. Instead of more fries they decided to get a delicious and light house salad instead. Being healthy can also be delicious.
And lastly the French toast was delicious. Brioche bread was battered in eggs and topped with banana, strawberries, and maple syrup. The thick, fluffy bread melted in my mouth. It was authentic and rich. And it was beautiful to boot.
We washed back our meals with a latte and a Bloody Mary—two brunch staples. The latte was just what I needed to wake me up. The Bloody Mary was extravagant, gorgeous, and spicy! All in all, the drinks are a treat.
Just when we thought we had no room for anything else, our waitress brought us Panqueques con Dulce De Leche. This dish is made of warm crepes stuffed full of dulche de leche and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was unreal. I have never seen three people devour one dessert so fast. Warm and gooey dulce de leche combined with sweet and cool vanilla ice cream, be sure to save room for this decadent dessert.
Novecento has locations all across Miami, Mexico, Argentina, and Uraguay. Be sure to stop in and experience this delicious dining experience for yourself!
