Newt Miami – Transformative Art & Sir Isaac Newton Drink at Toro Toro
Sir Isaac Newton asked if a light that transformed a night sky also transform a city, and NEWT Miami vigorously answered the call. Artist Dejha Carrington, composer Kelly Nunes, and the Project NEWT team created what is one of the most transfixing public art installations to ever hit the Magic City.
By taking over that darned “dancing girl” that has remained a fixture on the 19-story LED wall of the InterContinental Miami hotel and transforming it into a digital canvas for performative architecture, NEWT MIAMI is full sensory experiment in art, complete with memorizing lights and set to a symphony of original music.
In partnership with Bombay Sapphire and its National Brand Ambassador, Gary Hayward, NEWT MIAMI brings their concept to Toro Toro Restaurant with a secret cocktail that’s pretty much a stroke of genius. The “Master of the Mint” is inspired by the famous story of a young Newton sitting in his garden when an apple falls on his head, leading him develop the theory of gravity.
Sip on this delectable concoction of Spanish lemon peel and Moroccan coriander seeds, juicy apple, invigorating mint, and fragrant Italian Orris root. The “Master of the Mint” cocktail is available from November 10-15 at the bar inside Toro Toro Restaurant. Sit back and enjoy the refreshing and balanced “Sir Isaac Newton” drink in the glow of the bar while watching NEWT MIAMI.
