Manna Life Food – Tasty, Healthy & Beautiful Energy
Vegan fare is some of my favorite food to eat. I even keep a vegan house to balance all the other “food” I am constantly stuffing my face with for “work.” (I know rough life 😉 I met the Manna Life Food owner, Sabra at a vegan cooking course and was instantly a fan. Sabra Seligman is a wellness and nutrition expert, who received her culinary training under the tutelage of Mark Reinfeld, Manna Life Food is her passion project. “For 16 years, I have dedicated my career to wellness and now to plant-based nutrition,” she says. “That’s where we need to pay the most attention. We want to offer another avenue of feeding your body what it needs.” To deliver this form of nutritious cookery, Seligman and the lovely executive chef Diana (Chef D’) have foregone the use of a stove, using a dehydrator or convection oven to whip up healthy and delectable fare.
What they have created is the magical Manna Life Food, a plant-casual and superfood-based juice bar and café The one hundred percent gluten-free, plant-based, organic, and from-scratch eatery dishes out a selection of wholesome and flavorful raw and baked treats, savory and sweet bowls, superfood arepas, nori burritos, smoothies, juices, nut mylks, and grab-and-go snacks for today’s health-forward and fast-paced generation. The venue is so inviting with gorgeous, wood, cacti, succulents and a swirl of pleasant loving energy.
Just as plants are the building blocks of creation food is the foundation for life, and Manna’s philosophy – to eat a diet as colorful as the rainbow and lead a lifestyle filled with food from heaven – is brought alive with its diverse and original menu that will be reinvented seasonally and due to popular demand. “This is our superfood laboratory,” Seligman says. As a result, superfood arepas are made from ground corn and infused with chia, golden flax seeds, and cooked in coconut oil.
The most popular arepa is lathered with avocado, housemade spirulina chimichurri, and hemp hearts, while we enjoyed the raw falafel version with raw falafel, red pepper hummus & cucumbers.
We suggest washing it down with an intoxicating Manna Lifeshake – Cacao, maca, reishi, coconut oil, cashew mylk, cashews, dates, vanilla, cacao maca fudge, house made coconut whipped cream. Easily the healthiest and one of the best chocolate shakes I’ve ever had!
If you are looking for a beautiful and tasty salad we suggest the Eat The Rainbow Bowl – Coconut brown rice, carrots, peppers, cucumbers, edamame, almonds, mixed greens, goji-cranberry dressing. Was an amazing eclectic mix all of natures goodies.
We are going to need a healthy juice to wash all this food down. Liquid sustenance is available by way of cold pressed juices. Try the Sun is Shining – Orange, clementine, turmeric, carrot, raw honey. A nice not too sweet libation.
Desserts are superb at Manna Life Food as well! Favorites included the Oatmeal Cranberry Hemp & Passionfruit Cheesecake with Passion fruit, cashews, raw honey, pecans, raw cacao & coconut flakes.
