Last Dance, Last Chance for “Putting on the Pounds” Bake Sale with Lee Brian Schrager
After a washed out Memorial Day Weekend where someone left the cake out in the rain, Lee Brian Schrager’s “Putting on the Pounds (LBS)” Bake Sale is Stayin’ Alive one last Sunday to benefit the SOBEWFF® & FIU Chaplin School Hospitality Industry Relief Fund.
Joining Lee on Sunday is Hot Stuff Samantha Schnur, otherwise known as The Naughty Fork, the Forbes 30 Under 30 foodie influencer who turned a decadent Instagram account into a powerhouse digital media and marketing business supporting the food and beverage industry. Also resuming co-hosting duties, because he Never Can Say Goodbye, is Andrew Gonzalez of Night Owl Cookies, the Miami favorite who has been with the bake sale since its humble funky beginnings.
Social distancing protocols continue, so guests can Boogie Oogie Oogie on over in their cars to pick up this week’s line-up of groovy goodies, while providing much needed financial relief for South Florida restaurants and bars. Badia Spices is once again generously matching all proceeds, so spend big and Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough!
“It’s my birthday and our last bake sale, so what else can I say but I’m So Excited,” exclaimed Lee Brian Schrager, Founder and Director of SOBEWFF®. “We felt so terrible after having to cancel last week’s bake sale because of the weather, so we really want to make our grand finale the best one yet. I can’t help but reflect on the great disco hit, I Will Survive, when I think about the many local restaurant and bar owners who are doing everything they can to reopen and make it in this crazy new normal. I’m calling on everyone in the South Florida community to come out and show their support for the people who have always been there to serve us. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday than to give back to my friends in the hospitality industry.”
The local food and beverage icons bringing delectable dishes to Lee’s Brick House this week for $25 each will be:
