K Restaurant Magical Dining Preview – Magical Dining Month in Orlando
September in Orlando only means one thing, and it isn’t cooler weather – it’s Magical Dining month! All month, restaurants throughout Central Florida are featuring a 3-course, prix fixe dinners for $35. This is the best time of year to finally hit that restaurant you’ve been dying to try, at a fraction of the price. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peak last week, at the K Restaurant Magical Dining preview in College Park. The College Park eatery is participating again this year in Visit Orlando’s annual event, offering with a variety of new options for Orlando area foodies.
Deviled Eggs; Crispy Brussels Sprouts.
K is offering three delicious starter options for their first couse. The Deviled Eggs, with tomato jam, were out of this world. Taste was not too overpowering, and the jam and bacon set off the egg flavor nicely. The Duck Liver Mousse served with ciabatta bread had such a nice, light flavor that even I truly enjoyed the dish – and I am not someone who would typically order duck liver mousse on any given day. My favorite starter, though, was easily the Crispy Brussels Sprouts – tossed with a hot sauce honey. I’m a sucker for anything spicy, and these were seasoned & crisped to perfection.
Entree-wise, the K Restaurant Magical Dining menu is offering a nice variety for all palates. The first of three options is an Eggplant Parmesan. The vegetarian dish is delightfully crispy, with a savory ragu. Carnivores also have two options this year: a Pork Porterhouse – served with creamy polenta and a cider BBQ sauce – and a Seasonal Fish, served with veggie risotto.

Ask most Orlandoans what their favorite part of Magical Dining is, and the answer will be a resounding “DESSERT!” Pastry Chef Michelle has outdone herself, as always – K does not disappoint on the dessert front this year. The Chocolate Torte, served with a salted caramel buttercream, comes with huge chunks of toffee to munch on. The combination of all 3 opposing yet complementing flavors is out of this world. Another K Restaurant favorite is the French Toast Bread Pudding: smothered in pecan streusel, cinnamon maple glaze, and vanilla ice cream. The third option is a rotating Chef’s Choice Cheese Cake. Ask what flavor is being served on the night you attend. On preview night, we were served chocolate covered cheesecake topped with malted milk balls.
