Chef Aaron Brooks and Chef Todd Erickson to Duel at Iron Fork
The seventh-annual Miami New Times Iron Fork, presented by the Downtown Miami Development Authority, will once again partner with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau to host the official Miami Spice kickoff event on Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the Hyatt Regency Miami. The second annual staging of the event will introduce dining enthusiasts to some of the finest restaurants featured during the Miami Spice program, as well as dozens of other top local eateries.
During the evening’s highlight, two of Miami’s best-known chefs will go pot-to-pot in a sizzling showdown for supremacy during a competition hosted by Chef Allen Susser. Two of our favorite chefs, culinary connoisseur Aaron Brooks from Edge Steak & Bar will compete against the sexy Todd Erickson, executive chef of HaVen and Huahua’s Taqueria. Each chef will be supplied with a basket of groceries plus one secret ingredient and challenged to create three unique, mouth-watering dishes, one every 15 minutes. The chef with the two best dishes will be crowned the 2014 Iron Fork Winner.
Their tantalizing creations will be judged by Timon Balloo, chef at Sugar Cane Raw Bar Grill; Jamie DeRosa, chef and partner of Tongue & Cheek; and Adrianne Calvo, chef and owner of Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar. All are past Iron Fork competitors. The epicurean event will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. and will bring together thousands of young professionals and foodies for an evening of gourmet food selections, tasty libations, and live entertainment.
Guests who prefer an intimate dining experience may purchase VIP tickets, which include entry to the event one hour early, at 6 p.m., and access to a private VIP bar and lounge that will feature entertainment and an elite selection of Miami’s best luxury dining restaurants. We are salivating with excitement and will see you there!
