Two bowls are better than one! We dined on the Coco Loco and the Griyo bowl. The Creole name Griyo which is basically slow braised pork over red beans and rice. But the magic is in the preparation! This pork was marinated for hours and cooked in a citrus and vinegar marinade. Then flash fried for a crispy exterior while preserving that juicy, flavorful dish topped with pickled veggies and micro greens. The name says it all “From Haiti with Love”.
Coco Loco Shrimp had our mouth watering like crazy! Five pieces of jumbo shrimp with a blend of house made coconut curry sauce and tomato creole sauce was served with coconut curry vegetables. A mixture of perfectly cooked root vegetables aka the Haitian ratatouille – carrots , cauliflower, corn, potatoes sautéed in coconut curry sauce served with the not to be missed Banan Payzay!
