Grant Park Summer Shade Festival Celebrates Its 17th Annual Event
The Grant Park Summer Shade Festival is an annual tradition and will welcome music, plus art lovers to Atlanta’s oldest park. Grant Park Summer Shade will celebrate it’s 17th year on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25, 2019. This two-day free festival is produced by and benefits the Grant Park Conservancy. To detail, it will~± feature an impressive lineup of live music, together with an expansive artist market, once again.
Activities
The 17th annual festival is open to all ages and free to attend. It will have a diverse selection of local food trucks and vendors with offerings suitable for all. Furthermore, cocktails, a beer garden featuring acoustic music, and family-friendly games are in order all weekend long! Additionally, activities include a Kids Zone, 5K run, and more.
5K Run
On Saturday morning beginning at 8 a.m., runners, walkers and strollers are invited to take part in the annual Adams Realtors Run for the Park 5K. It includes a free kid’s tot trot for ages 5 and under, as well as a stroller stroll along the race course. This 5K run will raise funds to support the Grant Park Conservancy. The course map start and finish will be at the main entrance to Zoo Atlanta. Also, pre-registration is available at www.summershadefestival.org or active.com or onsite at 7 a.m.

Parking
A parking lot will be available off of Cherokee Avenue. Also, there is street parking along Cherokee Avenue, Atlanta Avenue, Berne Street and Sydney Street. Bike racks will be available for cyclists attending the event.

The Grant Park Conservancy (GPC) is a non-profit, membership-based organization. This organization is fully committed to the restoration, beautification, and maintenance of historic Grant Park! Grant Park is the oldest park in Atlanta created in 1883, and covers 131 acres.
