Going Away? Accommodation Types to Consider

When you’re booking a trip, you need to think about the accommodation that you are staying in along the way. If you’re taking on business travel, then you probably stay in a nice hotel suite or an apartment. And if you’re travelling with family, it’s much easier to stay in an apartment than it is a hotel, especially if there’s more than four of you.

Accommodation comes in all shapes and sizes, and whether you’re going for something luxurious or something budget friendly, it’s one of the key aspects of travel planning. Whyle furnished apartments, for example, are the creme de la creme depending on where you stay in the same way Hilton Hotels has a name for itself. Your accommodation choices are your personal sanctuary on the road, especially if you are not planning on sleeping in your car. Let’s take a look at the accommodation types you should consider based on the vacation trip you’re taking.

  1. Apartments. These are becoming more and more popular for people who are looking to stay long term in different cities or by the sea. The reason that people choose apartments is because they can self cater their trip and they’ll be able to fit more than three or four people in at a time. You also have the opportunity to have a little bit of space from the kids if you’re travelling as a family because once they’ve gone to bed you have different rooms to hang out in so that you don’t all have to stay quiet in the same room while the kids are sleeping.
  2. Hotels. The most popular and the most widely available accommodation option. You can find a range of amenities and services included in your hotel price. Often, they come with gyms, spas and swimming pools, which gives you a chance to have a little bit of luxury while you travel. The usual downside, though, is that you don’t often get a chance to fit everybody in the same room. This means you have to pay more money for more rooms.
  3. Hostels. Ideal for the budget travelers and the backpackers, hostels offer dormitory style rooms with shared facilities. If you’re traveling on a cheap budget, then hostels are a great option for you and you can go wherever you want around the world.
  4. Resorts. Large properties like resorts offer some of the best facilities in the world. You’ll find extra swimming pools, extra restaurants, and organized activities at the same resort. You can get a lot of all inclusive resorts, or you can go with half board depending on whether or not you want to move off the resort during your vacation. They’re usually located across the coast, which means there will be close walks to a beach and you’ll be able to hang out with the whole family.
  5. Campgrounds. For those who are on a budget or they’re just simply nature seekers or adventurers, campgrounds can be a great place to stay. If you’re road tripping, you can pitch a tent wherever there is safe, and you’ll find blocks of showers and toilets on site. Some campgrounds have additional facilities so that you can take the kids to the jumping pillow or the swimming pool.
