Estrella Damm Chef’s Choice – Tasty Prix Fixe Meals
This month, Barcelona comes to Miami with the Estrella Damm Chef’s Choice at numerous restaurants throughout Miami’s best neighborhoods. Beginning on May 14 and continuing through May 29, Miami locals will be able to enjoy three course meals with an “arroz” (rice) entree, curated by Miami’s top culinary talent, paired with an Estrella Damm beer at each of the participating restaurants. Prices vary per restaurant. Here is a beautiful full list of the participating restaurants.
I was able to check out a mini tour and was very impressed. DECK Sixteen at Hyatt Centric South Beach had an excellent Drunken Seafood Rice with Estrella Damm, chistorras. clams, shrimp and fish. The rice was so savory and flavorful with an abundance of fresh seafood.
The most impressive was Market at EDITION with a citrusy Florida Snapper ceviche to start with Serrano pepper, avocado and cilantro. It had a great balance of sour, spicy and salty. The main was a deliriously rich Lemon Basil Lobster Risotto that was simmering in butter for hours. To finish off this worthy trifecta there is a Salted Caramel Sundae with salted caramel ice cream, chocolate sauce, candied peanut and popcorn. All 3 of these dishes were scrumptious and made the Edition a clear favorite.
In Barcelona, friends and family love to get together for big meals often including arroz and an Estrella Damm beer – known internationally as “The Beer of Barcelona”. The independent Estrella Damm Brewery is the oldest brewery in Spain as well as one of the country’s biggest beverage companies. Estrella Damm, an award-winning, premium pale lager, is the group’s flagship beer which is brewed with the original recipe created in 1876, with Mediterranean ingredients such as pearl rice, a distinctive ingredient characteristic of Estrella’s unique flavor.
The company is particularly proud of the collaboration with Ferran Adrià, the most award-winning chef in the world. Chef Adrià is the gastronomic ambassador for Estrella Damm..
From traditional Spanish paella, to risotto and fried rice, each venue will put its own spin on an arroz dish, while highlighting favorites from their signature menus. Staying true to its ties to the culinary world, Estrella Damm is passionate about bringing the community together in a social atmosphere to explore the wide variety of restaurants in the heart of Miami.
