City Tap House – Brunchin’ in West Palm Beach

City Tap House has recently become one of my new favorite brunch spots. It’s perfect for a football Sunday, family brunch and anything in between. Full of TV’s, a huge bar, and bottomless bloody mary’s and mimosa’s, I wanted to move in.

I had to start with bottomless bloody mary’s. I usually don’t want to drink more than 1 but the bloody mary bar had such good stuff on it, I convinced myself I would have atleast two! They had everything from sirracha salt and celery bitters to cocktail onions and gardineaire skewers. Naturally, I needed to try out the mimosa bar also. Anyone who knows me knows that gummies are my thing and City Tap House delivered! They had sour gummies, regular gummies AND gummy burgers! That was the highlight for me, being the child I am. They also had an assortment of dried fruits along with (regular?) fruit, and a few different liquors.

Brunch calls for pancakes and City Tap House has the best blueberry pancakes – honey-thyme butter, blueberry star anise compote, pennysylvania maple syrup. First of all, these are massive and more than enough to share. The blueberry compote is smothered on top with a pool of honey-thyme butter. The butter is slightly salty and the thyme adds such a good flavor that you’re not used to.

I had to order the blue crab mac and cheese – fresh pasta shells, herbed bread crumbs. This is such a gooey and delicious mac and cheese. It’s not baked so it doesn’t get dried out!

City Tap House also has a great selection of wood fired pizza’s. We decided to try the sweet corn – raclette, oven roasted tomatoes, pickled jalapenos, cilantro pesto. This had such a different delicious flavor between the raclette, roasted tomatoes and pickled jalapenos.

I, of course end every meal with dessert, but this one was particularly special. The strawberry shortcake with pink rosewater Chantilly crème is on City Tap House’s “pink” menu. An assortment of cocktails and food items that if purchased, proceeds are donated to breast cancer research for the entire month of October.
