Have you been to Caña Restaurant & Lounge yet?

A new restaurant has come to Miami. Caña Restaurant, located in the Hyatt Brickell, brings the taste of Old Havana in a modern atmosphere. Discover flavors of coming home coupled with vibes of your favorite local lounge in the heart of Brickell. Being one of the most melting-pot cities in the United States, dishes are served family-style of course, which is honestly how everyone should eat anyways. Sharing is caring, right?

Caña Restaurant Bar

Digging In

Rooted in Cuban culture, the chefs at Caña have created a Latin inspired menu with traditional favorites like Vaca Frita, grass-fed shredded beef, and onions in Cuban mojo, as well as their Chicharron de Viento, made with sea salt, lemon, and garlic. Guests can also find some extra flare like Conch Fritters, Pulpo Crujiente con Mofongo de Yuca, and Ceviche de Pescado. This beautiful restaurant is located on the second floor of the Hyatt with a large but cozy bar and outside balcony seating overlooking the city.

A Menu for Everyone

After carefully considering every menu item along with the lovely server’s recommendations, we had the Camarones al Ajillo and Conch fritters appetizers to start. For entrees, we had Vaca Frita and Churrasco a la Cubana, which was absolutely delicious, topped with house-made chimichurri, cooked perfectly to order. The entrees were served with traditional rice, beans, and plantains along with crispy french fries on the side (because fries are always a must!). Tasting every bite truly felt like eating at home, serving a little bit of everything onto my plate, mixing the chimichurri from the skirt steak into my white rice and letting the flavors get to know each other a little bit. My favorite was definitely the Vaca Frita. I’ve never had shredded beef cooked and fried the way these chefs have perfected it. The texture and flavors exceeded expectations.

Did I Hear Happy Hour?

Along with being a full-service restaurant from Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Sunday Brunch, we can’t miss the amazing Happy Hour offered Monday through Friday. From 5 pm to 8 pm, guests can enjoy $5 beer, $7 wine, and $8 specialty cocktails. The best part though is the bar bites: Vaca Frita Toston made with shredded beef, caramelized onions, green plantain, Aji Amarillo aioli, and queso fresco. Chistora Bites, which are crispy Spanish sausage along with Mini Cubans (sandwiches of course!), made with Ham, Porchetta, swiss cheese, and a touch of pickles and mustard, and last but not least, Mini Pan con Lechon (pork sandwiches-yum!). Dying to go back during Happy Hour now to have those. Especially with how delightful the cocktails were.

Cheers to Caña

The mixologists at Caña Restaurant don’t mess around. With the passionate belief that life should be celebrated, Caña Lounge brings the evening to life with live music, cigar rolling, salsa dancing, and domino tournaments. I loved both the La Passion, which was made with tequila, passion fruit, lime, and jalapeno syrup and the Freshen Me Up, made with gin, muddled mint and cucumber, lemon, and simple syrup. Also, highly recommend their Smoked Old Fashion, which comes served in a Dictador Rum box to trap the smokey effect and flavors and made with Bacardi dark cherry syrup, and dashes of bitters. The presentation was was the best part! I can definitely see this becoming a new go-to spot after work.

Although there is Cuban food available on almost every corner of Miami, Caña Restaurant has created an elevated experience for those who love traditional Cuban food but don’t have Abuela’s (Grandma’s) kitchen so close anymore. The perfect spot for Miami visitors and tourists who are looking for a place to find authentic Cuban cuisine. The staff is extremely friendly with extra care to detail. I’ll be going back very soon too.

Be sure to follow Caña Restaurant on Facebook and Instagram for daily specials and mouth-watering food porn. Check out menus and make a table reservation for dinner or Sunday brunch.

Oh, and for those lucky ones in the area, Caña’s Power Lunch Specials run Monday through Friday for only $12. You’re welcome.
