Botran Mojitos at Lario’s on the Beach
Miami has its share of clichés, but lets face it, we so-flo folk cant help but love them sometimes. This couldn’t be more true than going for a classic Miami Botran Mojito served up Botran style at Lario’s on the Beach. A mere step off Ocean Drive , you can stow your rollerblades and kick back for a fresh take on Cuban cuisine and cocktail. The décor and atmosphere are nearly as funky as the countless concoctions on offer, but without a doubt, it’s the Botran mojito that puts a little shake in your culo.
Although relatively unknown in the states, The Botran family has been at the rum game since the 1930’s. Fusing European traditions, American whisky barrels, and Guatemalan sugar cane, the resulting blend is incredibly flavorful and uniquely smooth. With a spicy entrance and very subtle exit, it’s a delicious companion to a little muddled mint, sugar cane, and lime. Lario’s takes their Botran mojitos a step further by mixing in fresh watermelon making the perfect drink to beat the heat and clear way for a little Cuban comida. Roasted Lechon atop crispy moros cakes, Serrano Ham Corquetas, Bacon Wrapped Maduros, Mini Cuban Sandwiches, Ropa Vieja flatbreads, and Mango Avocado Tuna Tartartar are just a of few of the happy hours specials sassy enough to make your abuela blush.
So sip your Botran mojitos, drop your shades, and watch the south beach spectacle go by. After all, we like live here bro.
