Beaujolais Nouveau Festival Returns for 14th Annual Fest
Portland’s biggest celebration of the new wine harvest returns for its 14th year at the annual Beaujolais Nouveau Festival and Auction on Friday, November 20th at 6:00 p.m. In keeping with its long-standing partnership with the French-American Chamber of Commerce (FACC) and the Alliance Française de Portland, the Heathman Restaurant & Bar and the Heathman Hotel will open its doors to over 450 guests to taste the first Beaujolais Nouveau wines newly imported from France, as well as sip vintages and spirits from across Oregon, Washington and California.
The Heathman Restaurant & Bar culinary team will prepare a lavish French-themed feast for the Beaujolais Nouveau Festival, featuring live cooking stations with chef demos, a grand seafood display, carved roasted pig and lamb, cured meats and pâté, a collection of local and French cheeses, and a lavish dessert station.
As live music plays in the background, guests are invited to wander and lounge throughout the Tea Court and Mezzanine, sipping drinks and enjoying delectable bites from Smitten Truffles, St. Honoré Bakery, Grand Central Bakery, and Nicky Farms.
VIP table seating for the Beaujolais Nouveau Festival is located in The Heathman Library, may be reserved in advance. Russ Lewis, anchor at KGW TV, returns once again as the master of ceremonies, urging guests to bid in the silent auction for trips, wines, and hotel packages.
But the most desirable prize of the night may be the round-trip ticket for two on Delta Air Lines to Europe. General admission tickets are $70, and reserved seats are available for $110 (or $1,500 for a VIP table for 8).
All proceeds benefit the nonprofit missions of the FACC and the Alliance Française de Portland. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 8th and may be purchased at www.afportland.org.
